Who's Gonna Grab It?
i realize it's a piece of porsche history.... but nonetheless, i'd want the best! =)
and i do appreciate the classics.... but still.... i can't justify spending so much money on something so old!!
and that's for anything in life for me.
i think of it this way: an old computer, or a new computer..... just because it's old and a piece of history and like Dell's first computer... why the hell would i want it? =)
p.s. i realize that was probably not the best comparison.... but i think you get my point =)
I bet it's different for me too, seeing how i was born in 1986 and not alive for those porsches..... i'm sure it makes a difference if you were alive and there for when those porsches came out!

I wasnt alive but I have driven replics of these cars and anyone else who has knows that there the real deal and loads of fun. No driver aids, no traction control, no bull. Just man and machine. It would be incredibly hard for me to pick this or a GT3RS but in the end I would most likely do the RS just because I drive everything ive ever owned. Off of 4 Porsche cars owned theres been a total of over 620,000 miles lolol (no not all done by me) If you can have it all this is a necessity to any enthusiasts collection and I guarantee that many on this board who have driven similiar cars will agree that these cars are so much fun that they may actually be their favorite! No matter what your flavour as long as its a Porsche your ahead of the game and alright in my book! : )

Dude,
I got 40 years on you (born in 1946) I couldn't agree more!
I drove older Porsches most of my life, 356's, 911 & a very, very fast 930, but I will take my 997s and my 997GT3 everytime! There is just something about technology that wipes out any desire for old. At least for me. I like new houses as well, no as much work.

Bobby holik rookie card or somthing like a Bobby Orr/any 60/70's allstar rookie card.
I can either put 200k in the bank and let it rot at 4% or buy a car that will depreciate, or I can own something fun that will have a good return.
1973 Porsche Carrera RS... There IS no substitute!!

Color Change
I was just wondering if it matters that they changed the color from its original state. From what I recall it was originally black. What does everyone think. Should that be reflected in the price or it doesn't matter.
I went to look at the car and it was pretty nice!
it's got 95,ooo on the clock and will probably need a motor at some point.
I'd say it's a good 150k car. Being white instead of the the original black I think is a plus as cars of that age generally will need repainting at some point and I feel the white with blue graphics epitomizes the period best.

you guys are off your rocker!
as luis and a few others have said. this is probably the most desireable road going porsche there is. having had the fortunate experience off riding in one when i was younger, it has ruined me for life.
and as an investment, you can't go wrong.
i dont think the paint is an issue. orignal would be better, obviously, but most of these cars would have had some form of paint work over their lives. these cars were driven, and not stored away like many do to newer cars these days.
