Went to my dealer a few days ago to pick up my turbo and saw this car.

I was like,, wow,, a carerra GT

check it out..

its a boxster with a fake body!!! I dont know much abt the GT and felt kind of dumb when the mechanic told me it was a boxster..

the guys at the shop were joshing with me when I got there, ,saying,, this guy who owns the GT wants to trade even for a 997 Turbo and I am thinking,, hmmm,, $128,000 car for $438,000 car,,, sounds like a good deal to me..

then,, they said,, ITS A BOXSTER and I felt dumb.. and they laughed..

and I was actually thinking abt the trade... LOL

Apparently, he took it in for an oil change and maintenance.

Its still a Porsche.

And, everyone stares at it.

I bet in real life from non P folks,, he gets a million comments.

Cost him $65K for the kit and labor according to the mechanic.

 

I'd be embarassed to own that thing. I couldn't have any cool car friends anymore 'cause they'd know I was a poser.

 

I dont know the guy, never met of saw him but,,,

I bet ya,, 99% of the population thinks he is driving a Carerra GT.. It says it in the back and people wouldnt question it


If he was next to me at a stop light and I was in my new TT,, I d be a bit hesitant to race him.

He probably got $100K worth of atta boys with that fake.

Maybe to some its worth it..

 

I doubt that.. most non-car people dont even know what a carrera GT is. Majority of the people that do, would know thats a fake. Even if they couldn't tell visually, the sound (or lack thereof) would easily give it away.

 

If the guy is happy that is all that matters. I think of it like fake boobies. I personally would not drive the car.

I have never seen a Carerra GT in the flesh, esp in this small FL city. I know my Porsches very well just not that model and am embarassed to say,, I may not have known initially.

Just like women with fake boobies,, if I see another GT,, i ll think its fake.. Just like when looking at a "perky" female,, OH, they must be fake.

He could've had a nice TT for about $100K that he spent!

 

BUT

I would have done a PPI and HOPED the mechanic would have told me,, its a boxster,, unless he was in on the deal.

Just what I want,, an old 205 hp boxster!!!

 

With $65k he could have had a 996TT......Then sold the Boxster for about $20k in mod money....that makes a SIIIIICK 996TT......

 

You'd realize something was fishy when you mashed the gas pedal

 

until i saw the end i was about to say, thats no CGT.
