My new White GT3
My new White GT3
Well, I picked it up Friday and all I can say is wow.
This is a driver’s car.
All the accolades are really true as far as I can tell in 500 miles. Sorry if this post sounds like some others but hey this one is mine.
First it's a beautiful car. I think it's the best looking 911 in a long time. Yes it's another white one but I think it looks great in white.
The clutch is much stiffer (not too stiff) but with far more feedback than my Turbo. The shifter is amazing, like a rifle bolt as others have said, it requires more effort which I like and will probably loosen up a bit over time. You can't sit back and relax in this car it has to be driven with purpose, which I think is how it should be.
The PCCB’s are amazing, barely touch them and you’re through the windshield. I’m braking much too early. They take some getting used to.
I thought the white console might be too Star Wars like but in person it’s not at all, really breaks up the black interior.
It feels more planted and nimble than my Turbo with PSS9's and the ride is only minimally firmer, quite comfortable actually unless your going over lots of potholes. The front end doesn't bob around like the original TT suspension did, a very planted feel.
My dealer offered me a wheel and tire protection package for $500 that allows me 5 incidents of wheel and tire breakage other than curb rash. Covers damage (with new OEM rims and tires) from potholes, etc. I’m thinking of taking it but haven’t decided yet. Anyone do this?
Power wise I don't know since I'm staying at <4,200 rpm and there is not much power there. I don't expect the power of the TT but I'm looking forward to running it up to 8,400 rpm without any lag.
It's also quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the 996 Sport seats. How the Alcantera will hold up I don't know. The combination of sweat and Alcantera will probably not be good but it looks amazing and you don't move around in the seat.
The front lip is LOW, did I say LOW, I mean really LOW. In 4 days it's pretty much shot and I'm trying to be careful. The low lip and a fairly long overhang make for a dangerous combination. A disposable item for sure.
All in all it’s as advertised, I’m real happy with it and am looking forward to putting the miles on.
Sorry if some of my comments are repeats of others.
Here's some photo's.

Bruce, congrats man, I'm glad the wait was worth it (I knew it would be !)
Your thoughts echo mine, its a great car. I love your white console, adds some real sport to the interior.
enjoy it in the best of health, and good luck with it. How much are they asking for the wheel/tire protection package...I've never heard of that before.

Thanks guys for all the compliments. As you can tell I'm real happy with it.
RufMD; The Wheel/Tire protection package was around $550 for 5 incidents. I want to ask a few questions about it, ie. do they pro-rate tire wear, are the replacement wheels actually Porsche GT3 wheels and do they pro-rate the wheels, is there a deductible, what's the company behind the deal, etc. My BMW dealer offered me the same thing on my new X5 so i guess it's a growing idea. The dealer also made it clear that I can't buy it after I do any damage.

The GT3 series cars are just pure enjoyment. You car is beautiful. Use it in good health. Only have 300mi on mine but I have cheated and brought the car up to 7000rpm twice. Power delivery is quite impressive for a nomally aspirated car.
Congrats and nice write-up. You forgot the exhaust note which I turn on everytime I drive her. The only thing I don't like so far is trying to keep the RPM under 4200 which makes me kinda miss the 996GT3.

Congrats and enjoy!
Nice write-up.
Everytime I read these posts of those who just got their GT3 makes me more anxious to get mine...it is made as I have the VIN, but now I have to wait for it to get on a boat and get over here!

Thanks for all the nice words.
I feel like I'm driving a special car, it's a very nice feeling.
Mine was a birthday present to myself as well.
Mine came with Pirelli's and after a few hundred miles there is tire residue on the lower part of the fenders behind the tires, a real soft compound. These will not last long.
Martin; I promised you a ride and when I get back from an upcoming trip we'll do it.
