I agree with Rockitman...unless you are going to only track the car we're not missing much...having said that I'm glad we were able to get the MkII GT3 on this side of the pond...and after seeing the response I doubt we'll get another specialty model for a long time to come...just my $.10
well,
great justifications for us getting less again!!! the boys in the UK taht have owned both love their RS's altho' they say the setup is very touchy and crucial at thte limit

Watt,
It is difficult to describe how the RS is differant on the road, it just is.
I remember reading somewhere (maybe by the great LJK Setright) that you can tell a truly great car in the first 50 feet of getting behind the wheel.
In my case it only took the exit ramp from the factory...
Having discussed with the great one he informed me that it is due to the amount of wheel travel now afforded by the revised geometry and softer springs that makes the RS better on the road than the GT3. It also makes it that bit more nervous on the track...
I have quite a few pictutures if you are really interested, you could always look at the latest Goodwood shots at www.pbase.com/greymist
I am still laughing at the young chap I took for a quick spin. He got in and I asked him if he had been out many times before. I THOUGHT he said it was his first TIME out today. What he meant was it was his first time OUT...
He was looking a littlle pale by the time we came in but not half as pale as when he got out of Steve R's car.
Laugh, I nearly bough a round!
Even funnier is you can see the poor souls face in one of the pictures, I will let you work out which one it is...

Looks like the real thing with the plain wheels on it.
Mr. Rs, I was surprised to hear that the RS is a bit nervous on the track. I thought that it would at least be equal to the Gt3, if not better in that respect.

With an optimised set up it seems to be considerably quicker.
Once you add the JRZ suspension its on limit handling is superb.
At 7/10ths the RS is great, it has a tendancy to move into Snap oversteer once you push it that bit harder and it start to run out of suspension travel (my thoughts but by no means conclusive)
Had an almighty tank slapper at Bedford through the Palmer curves when I was trying a bit too hard but had no problems at Goodwood.
Car goes to have the set up optimised for my driving style before the next visit to beford sometime in May so will be interesting to see what the improvement is.
Final words, I Love this car!!!
Thanx for the comments Mr. RS, I am sure that it's a superb drive..
I'm still in the hunt for one, I was looking for a white/red combo but at this point I don't even care. Can't seem to find one but keeping fingers firmly crossed

RS - not sure if it was LJK Setright, although sounds rather like one of his.
Also just in case you were not aware, his "Drive On! A Social History of the Motor Car" was published at the end of last year.
Has been quite a while since I'd read any of his witicisms..thanks for the touchstone
