Just had a set of the R888 mounted on a new set of 18" wheels. Here's what the RA1 replacement looks like for those who haven't seen them.

my C14 failed to arrive on time. i had to burn some cash on useless oem 19" mpsc for the next 6 track days in 2.5 weeks. ugh.....

love those wheels.

do you know that C10 are not available. ligher, has center cap, but also got some "webbing" in the lug nut area, not sure i like that.

The suspension of the GT3 was designed to handle specific dynamic loads based on the tires used in the production cars. Running slicks, while increasing the amount of grip you have, will cause undue stress on the suspension, and accentuate body roll and sway among other things. If you're looking to upgrade your tires, I would think that less is most likely more.

*Finally I get to use some FSAE knowledge on the board*

Ryan: Those tires are way cool. Are the R888's supposed to be shaved like the RA-1's?

Ryan, would you be willing to share the specs on the wheels (price, sizes, offset). Also when you have them on, a picture would be greatly appreciated. The style of the wheel looks fantastic. CCW has come a long way from when I first used them years ago!

Teck Mafia- Thank you for adding the voice of reason to this post. It is true that it will accentuate body roll and may upset the suspension in other ways as well. Better to do suspension work first...and then the tires if this is really the route one wants to go.

I didn't shave them. Didn't see the need. Looking at the new tread design seams there is less chance of lateral movement of the treads.

i just ordered some R888's too
unfortunately in australia, we get a beter front end fitment (235/40/18) but only 295/30/18 is available in rears at tihs stage. ill be trying them in 2 weeks.

I am about to pull the trigger on a local set of 18" wheels designed and used by a local porsche 'legend'. Super light forged wheel (will post pics and weights when i get them). I wish the r888's where readily available in 19" but supply seems erratic so 18"s it is for now.

any issue wit ha 245 on the front of a GT3 rubbing? what if you lower the GT3?

Ryan - i see you went for 12" rears. i am going 11" due to to tyre choice. so many of the 295's and 305's will be outside the recommended fitment range on a 12" but fine on an 11"

for those interested, ihave heard fantastic reviews from people who have tried the Dunlop DS03G. TireRack dont have it but it looks like a super tire.

Not a problem, owners need to remember that these cars aren't just an amalgam of parts. Modifications need to be engineered and applied accordingly to see optimum gains.
