Congrats and welcome. It's your money, spend it how you like. My Gt3 RS is fully optioned also and I love it. I actually used the Nav in a rally I did with the car. You will not always be on the track or you would have bought a full race car, and for the times you are on the street, those comfort options come in handy.
Congrats on that car. That's a beauty. I have a customer who ordered his '08 GT3 almost like yours. I can't wait to see it. You will have a blast with it. I would honestly rather buy your car than a 997 Turbo. Both nice cars, but the GT3 is the nicest 911 I have ever driven. Maybe the new GT2 will be better, but that wasn't the case with the 996 GT3 and GT2 I think. I hope you have a great time with the car, and enjoy all the options!
By the way, Porsche is only sending 105 GT3's to the US for 2008. It will be a hard to get car.

Not just a race car, you'll enjoy the options everyday. Hope to see you and the new GT3 soon. If you had to pay "more" at least your but will enjoy sitting on it everyday vs. using to pad someone else's rear!

According to TTSurgeon, "nobody in their right mind would spec out the GT3 like that". True, I would not have placed many of the options- carbon fiber, Nav, and sport chrono. However, everything else I'm cool with and probably would have picked anyway. So what am I out 10 grand- not a big deal for me. Does this place me in "turboland"? Who cares! If I had wanted a turbo, I would have bought one (almost did).
The best is P97 which states,
"You're 100% dead on...I mean $2900 for carbon switch panel? Do you know what parts it consists of? Defroster trim, air vents, door opener trim. I mean only a few pieces for $2900!!! There's your markup boys. So in reality, it's like saying the car is MSRP at $120K, but I'll sell for $10K over because of the options."
This is the guy on rennlist (and here) which had the allocation for the red GT3 and then sold it with a $6,000.00 "fee". He also has an allocation you can buy for only 10 grand. So, I'm sorry, who's ripping who off!!! At least for that 2900 for the carbon fiber I get something and not just making you fat and happy!
My financial advisor,xlr8ion , said I'll be down 35 grand next year. Dude, I lost 20 on my '06 C2S, which I traded in for this car, so 35 (on a percentage basis) is an improvement! Thanks for the words of encouragement!
Was this GT3 over optioned? Yes, but it also had what I wanted. The color was good, there wasn't crazy red mirrors on the side, no fees to third parties, MSRP, and I WANTED A GT3!
So, don't worry about me, I'm happy.
PS Carlos has been very good to work with.

Seattle Sun, Congrats on the car. I don't want to be misconstrued about what I said. Yes you paid a lot for your car, but you did get a fully loaded car and you paid sticker. What I was simply saying was that everyone jumped to say what a great job Carlos and Suncoast were doing because they were selling the car at MSRP. What I was saying is had the car been a low option car, they probably would have asked a premium over sticker. But due to the already high price due to the options on the car, it would be very difficult to justify anything over sticker because that would have put them into a territory that would have not only been frowned upon by customers, but more importantly, probably the likes of PCNA. If this is how you wanted to have your car optioned, I say AWESOME! Again congrats, and what I posted in the other thread had nothing against the "future" buyer of this car, just wanted to point out the fact that this car was a heavily optioned car that would be difficult to sell above MSRP like they could with a lesser optioned car. Example, they probably could have sold a $115,000 GT3 with a $6000 dollar mark up over MSRP much more quickly at $121,000 than a heavily optioned car at $132,000 with that same premium which would have put it up to $138,000 which is about what they'll pay for a well equipped Turbo. At which point they have to ask themselves, what they're looking for in a car. If it's for sheer brute kick you in the *** power, and daily commuting they're going to probably decide for the same price they're better off with a Turbo. If it's for modding and runs to "Mexico", then again for the same price, they're much better off with the Turbo. If they're track junkies, then they're better off with the GT3, however would most likely prefer a stripped version low on options. So I hope you (and others) see why I said the things I did and that it wasn't a strike at you or anyone else who would have bought this car. It's a beautiful car and I could only imagine the smiles it gives you everytime you open the door and insert the key into the ignition much less the giddy school girl laughs it brings you when you depress the pedal all the way to the floor. I sincerely, hope you enjoy it. Welcome to the 6 speed community. drive safely and let's see some pix (exterior and interior)!
Congrats on the car! Drive it in good health. Track that baby!!
There is an old saying "Price is what you pay - Value is what you get"!
Scott - I understood your post before this one. I think sometimes we are too quick to jump on someone for putting a negative spin on something that wasn't directed at the buyer but more at the dealer/manufacturer.
Get 200 miles on it and then let her rip. Hell just let her rip!!

Congrats once again!
