We are heading to the beach on Sunday August 12th!

We can make a few meeting spots if locals want to arrive together, but lets mke the final roll-out station @ Griot's Garage in Tacoma/Fife, WA @ 9:00 AM. If we want, we can switch it to 10:00. I figure at 9:00, we'll leave there at/after 9:30, putting us at the beach around 1:00pm. We can get lunch and take pictures there, and head back and be home in time for Sunday dinner.

I agree with Todd in the other thread...............cutting over to 101 and heading down is better than I5 the whole way.........less cops and more good views...........

If the drive was on a Sat, I would be in. I would just spend the night somewhere down there.

I'm not a 100% on that date yet. I have a couple trips scheduled, but have to check the calender. I'm with Dave and would prefer a Saturday drive and spend the night in Cannon Beach. The Tolovana Inn next to Moe's is a nice, inexpensive place to stay. I'll get back to you guys. Thanks

 

Ok Boys, we're in for the drive. I would like to suggest driving Saturday the 11th and spending the night in Cannon Beach. There is good food and beverage to had there We could party it up Saturday night and then drive back Sunday.. maybe a different route back?

We usually stay at the Tolovana Inn (next to Moes). Its nothing fancy, but very clean and inexpensive. Pretty good parking space as well. I imagine we'll stay over regardless if we drive Sat or Sun. what do you think?

 

I am in for the one day drive down and back... sorry cannot stay over.

Anyone doing the open lapping at Pacific Raceways on Aug 20th?

 

I just got confirmation that I will have someone to watch the kids that weekend. That means my wife and I will be able to make the trip. I am up for the overnight idea. If not many people do the Sat to Sun trip, we can meet up with the Sunday drive people for the drive back. I won't be able to leave on Sat until a little later in the afternoon due to the autocross that day. I know Bruce is probably in the same boat if he is planning on going.

The over-nighter sounds fun, but being under 21, I do not want to ruin anybody's fun Saturday night.
Lets try coordinating a few cars going down Saturday (whenever time), Sunday AM, and everybody rolling back together Sunday PM. This way as many people can go as possible, also.

I will be in the Sunday AM crowd.

I don't remember the name, maybe Moes, but there is a great place right when you hit town on you right. Inside and outside eating, American cuisine, etc. Anything works for me.

I saw it, that's why I said maybe it was Moe's. I wouldn't have come up with the name by myself. The added (albeit minimal) description was to hopefully cue you in to verify the name... Which you just did. We'll eat there! Oh, and they have delicious desserts!

 

I'm excited for this year's drive! I'll be in the Sunday AM group with Wyatt.
