White GT3 pix (Mk1 & Mk2)
Last weekend my brother had a GT3 on loan from the local dealer to try for a couple days. He's thinking of trading his Turbo for a GT3. So anyway I had a great opportunity to compare the Mk2 with my Mk1, and also take some nice pics.
After two days of hard driving I would say that the new GT3 is exactly like the old GT3, just a little better. The engine is a little stronger and smoother in its power delivery, the clutch is lighter, the exhaust note is "snarlier" (something like PSE), and the suspension slightly more refined. The 8400 rpm is spectacular - a very noticeable increase from the Mk1's 7800. And the front lip is a lot higher off the ground. That front lip plus the lighter clutch make it an easier daily driver than Mk1.
Regarding the Turbo trade, my bro is undecided. He prefers the GT3's excitement but likes the TT better as daily transport (I bought my Mk1 from him a year ago when he got the TT). I'm trying to convince him to keep the TT and buy the magnificent RS that's sitting in the showroom (sometimes it's good not being in the USA).
So anyway, here are the pics I took (sorry about the crappy camera):
