Exhaust Mod?

Well I am finally a lambo owner! I sold my 430 coupe manual and bought a LP 560-4 with egear. I have to say i am very impressed and enjoying it very much. My question: Can the vacuum line to the exhaust be disconnected and plugged so that the bypass valves stay open all the time? It is quite easy to do on the 430 and it really "opens" it up nicely. Has anyone done it and are there any issues related with this modification.
Thanks, Bill

Congrats! Why don't you drop by and we could look at different options. Some people unplug the vacuum, but if I remember correctly, that valve is normally closed. Maybe safety wire the valve open. We could even hook you up with some EVOMSit software too.

On my 06 G SE, I removed the trim pcs (4 scews each) above the ex tips and safty wired the them. They are open when the engine is off. Sounds great, no issues.

Just disconnect the vacuum lines and cap em. If it's anything like the earlier G's you should have no problems.

Well, I was hoping to just disconnect the vacuum lines and cap them as el chorizo mentioned but access doesn't seem to be as easy. Simple how to would be appreciated.

What made me go from 430 to the LP 560-4? My 430 was an 07 with 6000 miles and with the 458 Italia soon to go into production I figured it was as good a time to sell it as any. I had been tempted to purchase a Lambo for some time and originally, I was in search of a low low mile 08 LP640 in white with the right options but I could never really find the right one. The more I researched the more I started to think the LP560 might be the right choice for me. I quickly found the color I wanted with all the options I wanted with the exception of q-citura seats. I really wanted them but figured it wasn't worth missing out on the local opportunity.

So how do I like it? How does it compare to the 430?

This is my first paddle shift car and I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised and impressed. It is very smooth and makes the car very easy to drive fast.

I think the 430 is more raw and visceral and the LP560 more civilized. Just depends which feel you like more.
The LP560 feels tighter with less creaking and less road noise.
LP560 has creature comforts I would never have imagined in a 430. Nav, bluetooth, back up camera, good sounding stereo, lift system, two zone ac ect.....
LP560 feels smaller and a bit cramped inside
LP560 seems to have less understeer on initial turn in and in general just feels quicker than the 430
Stock vs Stock I think the 430 sounds better but if I can get this simple mod done that might change things.
LP560 seems to brake quicker with carbon brakes compared to the 430 with steel rotors but I am still trying to get used to them because they do seem to grab quite a bit.

Overall I am very pleased with my decision and enjoying it thoroughly!!
