Experience with Domani Motors in Ft. Lauderdale?

Hi. I'm thinking of consigning my Porsche through Domani Motors in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Any comments on experiences with them? Would possibly pickup a Gallardo once my car sold.

Don,
I bought a Gallardo there and had a very bad experience.RMS leak!! I hope my two cents pays off. There are other great high end outlets down here that take cars on consignment and I would way sooner do business with them. Pm me for details.

I bought a Gallardo from them about 3 years ago. The car had several issues that they did not disclose. RMS leaks on early Gallardos are extremely common so I would not fault a dealer for that but be sure to have any car that you are looking at checked out very well. I would not recommend Domani.

would not recommend. have not bought anything from them; however when getting my 6.0 serviced there was one at the Lambo dealer that had been bought from Domani and they did not disclose a ton of things ... wheels, repaint due to accident, etc. car has been in the shop for about 4-5 months and the owner still has not been able to sort it out.

taylorcoleman, regrettably I am about a month late but I am glad Roy took care of you and hopefully you will consider us in the future.

Thank you.
Admirable to hear. I don't remember any specifics but I heard negative things about a year and a half ago when I was looking for a Gallardo as well. I saw that you guys are sponsors on here now and the attitude certainly seems to be correct, so just wanted to wish you guys luck as clearly there is some negative stigma out there that will need to be overcome.

I did not have any personal experience with Domani, but I did get many, many PM's warning me to stay far away.

I went with CatsExotics and could not be more pleased with their network, professionalism and expertise. So I really have no reason to use anyone else.

However, I do wish Domani much success. Sounds as if you're making great first steps to fix the biz.

In June of 2006, I bought a 2001 Yellow/Black Viper ACR that they advertised as a 'perfect car' with factory stripes and a "$5000 upgraded sport exhaust". The car turned out to have obviously aftermarket stripes (overspray and paint on areas that had or didn't have paint compared to factory), stock exhaust and the overall condition of the car was grossly mis-represented. It had curb rash on all 4 wheels including one that had a chunk of the lip missing, and the fascia had minor damage and needed to be repainted (which they agreed to do when I bought the car, but they spent so much money fixing 'other problems' (a whole other story) that they opted to not paint it and not tell me until the car showed up and I asked about it). It was pouring rain when the car showed up, so I had the carrier driver pull it in the garage where it sat for a couple of days before I really had a chance to go over it, and some things I learned over time. I opted to keep rather than deal with the BS of returning it or trying to get them to make it right, so I have not spoken with them since I received the car. Would they have tried to make it right? Possibly, I'll never know, and they'll never get my business again.

never personally dealt with domani, but some previous customers and family friends have had some VERY negative experiences with them. I have also had 2 family members go in there to buy a car from them and were treated unfavorably, so they left without buying the car(s). This was a few years ago, so possibly with prior management.

As a used car buyer, you should have realistic expectations of the USED car you buy or personally check it out before buying it if you are "****", however some dealers are not as reputable as others and tend to "overlook" or not mention some obvious flaws/issues/problems.

Please quote where I placed any blame one way or the other. The OP of this thread asked for experiences with Domani Motors and everything in my post is factual to that end. This was my first 'exotic' purchase (I know the Viper is not an exotic, but you get my drift), and I've learned alot of things in the 3-1/2 years since I bought the car, one of which is that even dealers of these types of cars cannot be trusted, whereas before, I assumed a more demanding clientele would have prevented such behavior. You live you learn. I have assumed all responsibility for my mistakes. That doesn't mean I'm somehow sworn to secrecy about my experience.

Yes, there are such things as consumer protection laws that include false advertisement.

As for Domani, if they have changed their ways for the better, I hope that recent customers speak up ~ their experiences, and I do hope those experiences are good.
