If buying from authorized dealership...

is a PPI still necessary? The dealership is listed as an authorized Lambo dealer on the official lambo site. They claim to have done a full and thorough inspection and will forward me the documents. I asked if I could have a PPI done elsewhere, and they said they won't let the car leave their shop. However, they would allow an indy come in and user their lift to inspect it on their own. Any thoughts? TIA.

I would definately do it, I just purchased one from an authorized dealership and was pleased to spend the extra $$ and time it took, the car is still under factory warranty, but I have been had before and will never be again!!
Good luck!

For the amt of money you will spend on the car, I would do another PPI...also, if u cant get get an indy to come look at the car, maybe consider what options u have if u purchased the car, and found out there are issues...because they are a dealer, u may have some recourse there also

There is another way around this which is to have them throw in factory warranty (they need to go through a lot of inspection to offer you the factory warranty). 1 year warranty cost $4,000 and I think it cost $7,000 for 2 years. That way your Lamborghini will also come with a peace of mind. Good luck getting the Lambo. You won't look back after your purchase!

Thanks for the replies. A second PPI won't be necessary. At least the service department was honest when I called about the first inspection. Salesman didn't mention any problems, but the service tech went over everything in the report. Car has a RMS leak and paint work to both the front bumper and passenger quarter panel. They quoted $3400 to fix the leak, so I will pass on this one.

Thanks again!

Vincent,

It would be great if you can post the VIN and pictures of the Gallardo you are interested in from this particular dealership. That way any fellow 6speed member who is looking for a Gallardo would know what they are getting themselves into when they see this car. Just a thought! Please let me know what your budget is and I will check with my friends to see if any of them are interested in selling theirs. Take care and have a wonderful day!

Wouldn't it be better just to post it here so everyone can read it? Im from Houston and was actually Lambo browsing last night.Wouldn't happen to be the orange one in Lamborghini Houston with like 2k miles? Says it was a Cali lemon law buy back in 05 but that all issues were resolved.

This one?

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...3D28705&aff=cj

Pretty low miles and only $97k but who knows what issues lie within.

Edit:
It wont let you link directly to the ad but it reads.

Condition: 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo 6-Speed Coupe in Arancio Borealis (Pearl Orange) over Black Leather with Orange Stitching. Just 2,885 miles! Equipped with the 6-Speed Manual Transmission, Power Operated Seats, Heated Seats, Branding Package, Clear Engine Lid, Board Computer, Coming Home, and Satellite Navigation System. Lemon Law buy back in CA in 2005. Issue was resolved leaving us with a beautiful, low mile Pearl Orange 6-Speed Gallardo with clear engine lid and the later factory Navigation! Fully inspected both mechanically and cosmetically.
Here is the link to the dealership site.
