allan, why are you here? i am serious. really. i am not trying to put you down in any manner, just confused as to the point of your posts. we all have different tastes and opinions. does each small little defeat of a porsche by a lamborghini bring THAT much of a dis-proportionate excitment to your life? jeez, even people who like both lambos AND porsches are wondering why you are here. enlighten us....what would make you happy? can you pinpoint it yourself? (this ought to be interesting! any psychologist/psychologists out there want to take a stab at this?)
very interesting psychological study!

I dont see any Lambo doing that as well the GT3 has a 0-60 time of 4 seconds, but forgetting all that it will eat it up on any road or track for that matter why dont you take your lambo and go meet some of the California GT3 drivers for a little Canyon Run, then we will see the GT3's perfomance. You have never been in or driven a GT3 I have driven several Gallardos it is no comparison even though I LIKE THE GALLARDO! More then you have to say about Porsche, if you dont like them get the fuc* off this forum I am not going to waste any more time with you!

As for the Gt3 being faster, please watch the video again, you can see the Gallardo pulling away. And here are sometimes with not just a GT3, but a GT3 RS, vs the Gallardo. As i said, Acceleration, the Gallardo is still faster, looks better, and as i said, you better be Mario Andretti to beat one, because it will be a hell of alot harder to extract your best time from a Gt3 over a Gallardo on the track.
Oh and btw, as for Porsche, i love them too. Not a fan of the Gt3, but a nice Turbo works for me.

you guys I had 1999 Vt diablo roadster- believe me that it was no match for my Turbo.... nor the Modena 360.

Fellas, don't take the bait, anymore. Some debates are foolish. There are so many cool cars out there. Why are some guys into vintage cars? They don't compare to new cars. For some reason, they just do it for those guys...the feel, the sound, whatever. In the end that's what really matters, because any amount of hp and speed becomes familiar, there's always someone faster and no design is the end all. If the car puts a smile on you face, great. If not, it's time for a change.
I don't know allanlambo, but I find it interesting to learn about other sports cars, especially when compared to a Porsche.
Here are some published 0-60, 1/4-mile, 60-0/70-0 braking and slalom/skid pad times. The Gallardo and Murcielago's dynamic handling is no comparison to the other cars, primarily because of its weight. With regard to acceleration, all cars will seem identical on the street, at least under 120 mph. That's been mine and others experience with the 996 TT, GT3, GT2, and CS. The Gallardo and Murcielago are the same, except for one fast MT test of the Murcielago, probably before it's clutch was burned up.
Motor Trend
Gallardo: 4.3 sec, 12.5@116.7, 115, 67.1 mph
Murcielago: 3.5 sec, 11.7@122.6, 111 ft, 66.2 mph
GT3: 3.9 sec, 12.1@116, 113 ft, 71.6 mph
CS: 4.3 sec, 12.5@114.1, 107 ft, 72.7 mph
996TT X50: 3.7 sec, 11.9@119.9, 110 ft, 69.9 mph
Car & Driver
Gallardo: 4.1 sec, 12.4, 158, 1 g
Murcielago: 3.8 sec, 12.6, 155 ft, .98 g
GT3: 4.0 sec, 12.3@114, 167 ft, 1.03 g
CS: 4.0 sec, 12.4@115, 167 ft, 0.98 g
996TT: 3.9 sec, 12.3, 163 ft, 0.93 g

Bill - now that's more like what I've seen. It's amazing to me that the GT3 is given such uber-conservative numbers by Porsche and that most mags/review just publish the Porsche numbers instead of testing it themselves. Motor Trend was particularly impressed by the acceleration of the GT3 and I'm amazed it bested the CS that much. Further solidifies my want for one, though.

Actually, I did a lot of research before I chose a CS over a GT3:
1. On the street, I've found the CS and GT3 to be about the same under 120 MPH.
2. There's a Top Gear video road test that shows the GT3RS pulling ahead at the start, and then the CS walking by later. Both cars had the same lap time on their small track with the same driver.
3. The CS is much more stable at higher speeds than the GT3 (I've felt this myself). You can see that in its better aerodynamic design, especially under the car. Motor Trend said regarding the CS "...its high-speed stability is faultless". On the GT3 "...One fly in the GT3's ointment is a lack of high-speed stability above 120, or at least the sensation of same. It's always moving around a bit, and you feel like you're constantly watching it..."
4. Motor Trend said regarding the CS "..it's also worth mentioning that we've tested standard 360 Modenas to slightly quicker times than this and suspect that this (CS) well-abused, early-build example's clutch was well on its way to heaven. We're confident that if all were right, this is a 3.9-4.0-second car."
5. Car & Driver said "It (GT3) shadowed the more powerful and lighter Ferrari in nearly every acceleration test. The two ran side by side to 60 mph (4.0 seconds) and to 150 (23.9) and were just about equal in the quarter-mile with the Porsche hitting 114 mph in 12.3 seconds and the Ferrari at 115 mph in 12.4."
6. Hamman7 on this board had confirmed that the GT3 and GT2 are identical from 0 to 80. I suspect the GT3 is faster than a 996TT at these speeds, and the same as a 996TT up to 150 MPH.
