Thanks

Thanks everyone for the congrats! Unfortunately the 2008 mirrors don't push in, hmmmmm. As for the person who said "will you marry me".....well, as long as you don't drive a Ferrari, sure!

pics

Yes, I'm actually going to have some professional pics done sometime in mid October. I'll take some myself though before then as I can't resist. As for mods, nope, I want the car to stay as is. I don't want to mess with perfection!

Congrats! I remember you talking awhile ago about buying this car from someone you knew. Glad to see it finally happen. I agree on modding...but if you do one thing, do the exhaust which is sort of like not a real mod it's something you just do LOL

exhaust

Hi - wow I can't believe you remembered me. I'll keep that in mind about the exhaust. The car sounds so good, especially when I start it up. I've wanted this car for so long that I can't believe it finally happened. I need to get an air compressor so that I can easily add air to the tires myself at home. That's tomorrows errand, lol.

Welcome to the L car club!

Nice ride. I recall your earlier post as well. Glad it came through for you.

A small air compressor is a must. I also keep a fire extinguisher. Egear hose may burst due to heat and having a fire extinguisher is a good insurance.

If you live in a rural area, I would recommend an upgraded AAA that covers 100 mi towing.

As for mods, I love the stock SL exhaust. If you don't have tinted window, I'd get one for privacy. A full front coverage clear bra is a must too.

Enjoy it!

questions for dejantive

Thanks for the congrats and all the tidbits of info. Is there any specific brand of air compressor I should get? I'm going to Sears today. Also, the same goes for the fire extinguisher, which kind do I get as I know there are some for grease, etc. As for the front coverage bra, I assume this is something I get from the dealer which he orders? If you are happy with the stock exhaust then I would leave it alone for awhile, and decide later. It sounds like the SL stock exhaust is louder than a regular G...that I am not sure.

As for clear bra, I would start by asking fellow Lambo owners in your area and see who they go to. It is a custom film cut to the car. There are kits, but I'd go custom. I have seen instances of shoddy jobs where the paint/clear coat was cut into. Be very careful who you take your car to. They should wrap the film over the edges. I'd do the entire front hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, and mirrors...that should be in the 2k range.

Awesome car and I am happy you got what you always wanted. What color white did you get? Is it baloon White? White is the best color on the Superleggera. I also love orange. The sound of that car must be amazing. I would love to get a ride in that car one day. I cant imagine the acceleration, handling and exhaust sound in person and not on videos. To answer your question The clear bra is installed by an aftermarket company. If you search here you will find plenty of information on it. I would do that right away to protect the front of the car. Venture shield is a popular one that I have heard good things about. Hope that helps a little and best of luck with the car.

to Alpine6SPD & Jetfire

Hi guys - I really appreciate all the info & help you are giving me. I know this may sound a bit stupid, but would you please tell me what type, perhaps specific brand and/or model number, of an air compressor to buy. I know that once I get there, like everything else, there will be too many choices! Thanks.

which white???

I'm not certain which color white; it's the only white they made in 2008 for the SL. I call it "the most beautiful white on earth white" LOL
