Making it of course the most successful model in Lambo History.
Lamborghini marked the production of the 12,000th Gallardo model with a post on Twitter.
In comparison, the Gallardo’s bigger brother – the Murcielago – sold just 4,099 units during its ten-year production run from 2001 to 2010.
Rumors of a Gallardo replacement (named the Cabrera, perhaps) have been circulating for quite a while.
Whatever model ultimately does replace the Gallardo, it will have some serious shoes to fill.

 

While some would say high volume Lamborghini models dilute the brand and depreciate the cars more quickly, every car company strives to sell more cars. The balance between maintaining exclusivity and resale value is a difficulat game to play. No one plays that game better than our friends at Ferrai!

Very impressive indeed! 12,000 for an exotic is a VERY high number. Congrats to Lambo and I hope they do well with it's replacement.

 

I think that 12,000 copies which could wind up being 13,000-15,000 is the right number for Lamborghini to have built. That is still far fewer than Ferrari built of the 360 in half the time.

Interesting picture of that Super Trofeo Stradale. They black roof is an option but it is gloss and does not include the A & C pillars. Here is a picture of the optional black roof:



That car looks like they just wrapped the roof matte black.
