Underground Racing LP570 - 4th Build - An Inside Look
Well, she has 97 miles on the clock and I just can’t take it anymore…yes, the Underground Racing twin turbo kit is so good that a factory stock LP570 just doesn’t do it for me anymore. It all started with a 2005 6-speed…it was my first taste of Underground Racing and I took her all the way to 1,550 whp and loved every minute of it. But at the end of the day, the 2005 felt like she was 6 years old. I mean the fit and finish was great, it was after all a Lamborghini, but hearing Kevin (UGR) talk about how great the Superleggera e-gears were just pushed me over the edge. The 2005 went bye bye and along came a 2008 Superleggera…she never actually came to me stock, rather the first day I laid eyes on her, UGR had already worked their magic and Kevin was right…the e-gear, while comical in the way it shifted, was sooooo good once UGR applied the quick shift program. That lasted all of about a year and I just couldn’t get my eyes off the 2011 and newer LP570 Superleggera’s. UGR had the system down…car drives like STOCK, performs like no other, is built with an extremely high attention to detail and wow, when Kevin took me a for a ride in a 570 with their quick shift program, I couldn’t resist. Yes, it was THAT MUCH better than my 08. So, as you probably know, the 08 went bye bye and along came a gorgeous fully optioned black LP570 Superleggera. Like the 08, the 11 showed up on my doorstep with a fresh stage 3, race heads, MoTeC and all the bells and whistles needed to make 1,150 whp on pump gas and 1,250 whp on 109. Now, let me tell you, the car was PERFECT, but, I had been eyeing an Aventador since it first came out. Being that it was still too early for me to buy a Vent, I decided to hold tight and keep my 570…that is until a good friend of mine offered me money I couldn’t refuse on the car. Next thing you know, I have nothing, the Vent is still too much money…and if I buy another LP570 it would need to be a white Superleggera. Problem is they only made a handful of white 08’s and a white LP570 is almost as hard to find. That’s when fate struck…a white LP570 Superleggera Edizione Technica showed up at Lamborghini Houston and the rest was history.
She came home in July and immediately the rawness of the car sucked me in…I was in love all over again, except, something was missing…she was SLOW!!!!! Since I had done 3 builds with Underground Racing in the past, they were the obvious choice to do my build again…BUT, given all of the new options out there in the Lambo world I wanted to do some digging, some research. All of the competitors talk about quality, performance, fit/finish as good as UGR, reliability, etc... I looked at all of my options, I talked to customers who I swore I wouldn’t name…I met up with customers of other shops to look at their builds, to get a ride in their cars. It became blatantly obvious that UGR was still light years ahead of the competition. Not only from a power, results, warranty, R&D, fit, finish and overall product standpoint, but the basics….like driveability, like day to day behavior, like the ability to make 1,150 whp on 93 octane pump gas…those things that I had come to expect just weren’t there with the other cars/builds I rode in and drove. At the end of the day, the choice was as obvious as it was when I decided to go with UGR the first time…I called Kevin and said “get the transport here asap…”
In my many conversations with Kevin I told him that I wanted to do more than just chronicle a build. I told him that I wanted to show the world why his systems were worth more, why they were better and why others shouldn’t think twice about choosing UGR over the competition. He agreed and with this thread, I will post LOTS of pictures and you all will get an unparalleled look into why UGR is the best in the business. The journey starts here, on 8/31/13….off she goes to UGR, fourth time is a charm!

Looking forward to this build thread! I have not had the opportunity as of today to own a lambo myself but I'm obsessed with the builds that UGR puts out so to see a more in-depth look as to how these beasts come to fruition is very exciting. Good luck with the project.

Is that an M6 I see in the garage?
I'd love to get a ride in an UGR Lambo at TX2k, I'm sure its a sickness, and just one of those things you GOT TO HAVE!
