Gallardo ownership and depreciation costs
Gallardo ownership and depreciation costs
I realize I have just a few posts here but I hang out at another blog. I am no stranger to exotics (stock and modded). I have a few.
I have driven 2005 and 2008 Gallardos many times and I think I want to get one.
I want to stay under 140k and prefer a spyder but open.
I realize the answers I seek can be extensive and highly conditional..I get that but I kindly ask for straight simple answers.
Is reasonable to assume that 05-08 Gallardos depreciate about 15-20k a year (based on 5k miles)?
Without being too nit picky is it reasonable to say that their is not a big reason I should pick an 08 over an 05 all else being equal.
thx,

The only thing you will notice between an 04-08 is the shifting. Most early model G's have had the latest revision update. 09 and later is a completely different feel. Get the best car 04-08 that you can afford. They are the same car all pre LP's. There is a great 08 SL on the market for 145K, not sure if that is stretching it for you? As for a 15-20K depreciation, no way, not even close. Maybe when the new model is officially launched, but the Gallardo market has been very stable. Best of luck and I hope I scratched the surface on your questions?
You can definitely get a spyder within your budget. Keep in mind that spyders are abt 300 lb heavier and 0.3 sec slower than coupes.
If that doesn't bother you, then don't worry too much abt depreciation. Gallardos between 04-08 are pretty much bottomed out. You may start shopping and find a great deal this winter.
