See the Macan in person!
My salesman said he wouldn't expect the diesel for a while, based on how the diesel Cayenne was released after other models. He expects a base Macan to be added first, then perhaps followed by a diesel. He said that it costs Porsche $3 million to get it certified in the USA. I expect that since they can sell as many gas models as they can make for the US market, and can sell diesels easily in Europe, then why would they rush the release of the diesel in the US? Don't know if the same logic applies to the Canadian market, which may be more similar to the European market with regard to diesels. Americans seem much slower than Europeans and perhaps Canadians in accepting diesel vehicles.
According to reports, the base Macan is due to be revealed before the year is out due to its increasing importance in the Chinese market.

I remember reading that PCNA decided not to offer a base [four-cylinder] Macan in the United States since they received concern that it would cannibalize too many sales from the Audi Q5 - enough to decide to offer the S Diesel as the entry-level model in that market instead.
