See the Macan in person!

If anyone in the South Florida area wants to check out the Macan live and in the flesh, we've got one on display at the Delray Beach Tennis Tournament going on right now in Delray Beach, FL. I have to admit...me likey!

You can also check out the Champion Porsche Instagram account for some pics.

Was there last night for the semi finals. Spent quite a bit of time checking it our during the 3 hr rain delay. Love it. Awesome that the champion rep started it up too. Sounds great. Might be back for the finals today. Love how the hood works - almost like the whole front end body panel on a hinge.

I currently commute in a cayenne. Would seriously consider replacing it with a Macan. Thinking Porsche will sell many.

Glad you guys enjoyed it.

That's the actual car that did the U.S. auto show circuit, so it's used to getting shown off.

Anyone check out the rear seats? What's the legroom like? Head room adequate?

Re: Rear Seats

I'm 6' medium build and I fit in the back seat fine.
I would not say ample room, but my knees were clear of the front seat adjusted for me. Plenty of headroom. Like other small SUVs - Q5, GLK, new Jeep Cherokee, etc.

FYI - there's a Macan at the Minneapolis auto show. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks!

Not only wasn't there a Macan at the Ft. Lauderdale Auto Show, there was no Porsche display at all....kinda sad.

I am 5'9" and weigh 160 . A buddy asked me about the rear seat spaciousness so I had a photo taken of me sitting in the rear . Please note that before i sat in the rear I had set the front drivers seat to my ideal driving position .

I'm wondering if there is any word yet on the Macan Diesel and its release date in North America?

They say it's held up due to certification of the diesel engine, but I'm assuming that since it's the same engine as in the VW/Audi, that certification wouldn't take too long. Waiting anxiously to place my order!

My salesman said he wouldn't expect the diesel for a while, based on how the diesel Cayenne was released after other models. He expects a base Macan to be added first, then perhaps followed by a diesel. He said that it costs Porsche $3 million to get it certified in the USA. I expect that since they can sell as many gas models as they can make for the US market, and can sell diesels easily in Europe, then why would they rush the release of the diesel in the US? Don't know if the same logic applies to the Canadian market, which may be more similar to the European market with regard to diesels. Americans seem much slower than Europeans and perhaps Canadians in accepting diesel vehicles.
