Congrats and nicely spec'ed indeed. PTV+ is something I tried to add to mine, but I was already locked.

Here are a few shots of mine.

I would actually want to drive a car without it to see how different it actually feels.

For a young healthy individual, that wasn't the first thing that came to my mind. My apologies.

Getting in and out of the 991 can be rather difficult at times. I 'm no invalid and I figure I'll give the Macan a shot.

It's no 911 and don't expect it to be. Drove an S with the 14 ways and it was very comfortable. Besides, I have the option of not of not taking delivery of it at no penalty to me.

By the way, this will be my 13th Porsche, with 8 of them being 911's.

Anyway, hope I cleared up any confusion. It's all good.
Thanks for clarifying. Best of luck.

I am about a week into my new Macan Turbo. I traded in my 2012 Cayenne Turbo. At first I was a bit worried about the size, but it really is not bad. I have three boys, and they fit just fine in the back with all of their baseball stuff in the trunk. I must say that I am quite impressed with how tight and quick this thing is. It really handles like a really good sports sedan (not a 911). I LOVE the PDK, and the sport plus mode is a blast. I also love the new steering wheel. Overall, I am very happy and really enjoying my new ride!

On my 2012 Cayenne Turbo the range I can get on a full tank is between 230 and 285.
Have you driven the Macan enough to get some real world figures?

Based on where I am I'm guessing 250-300. At half tank I was 140. It's all city driving too.

I am still on my first tank, and it is about 275. So I would think 300-325. My Cayenne TT was actually getting 375-400 on a full tank.

So after much deliberation i picked up a Jet Black Metallic on Black Macan Turbo today. I've been eyeing it for a while but needed to actually see the dimensions before I committed. I went to the dealer on Saturday and the rear seat is fine, I don't think its any smaller than the Q5 (my neighbor has a Q5 that I sat in and measured)

It happened that they had one coming in that was a launch vehicle and unspoken for.

It has all the performance goodies, PASM, PVT and Sport Chrono. It also has carbon fiber side blades and carbon fiber interior / steering wheel. So all in all a well spec'd car.

I drove it 15 miles to my clear bra guy and my short initial impression is that it drives like a sedan, close to a Panamera. In Sport Plus, in standard mode it definitely felt more soft and SUV like. But no matter what anyone says it is not a coupe or 911.

The Turbo has good torque, its not gobs of torque that push you into your seat, but its smooth, linear and noticeable.

I would say its almost exactly like expected, my only disappointment is the engine and exhaust. They are unexpectedly quiet, very very little growl or rumble...I really thought buying a turbo would bring a little more oomph and a little more noise..but its quiet.

I'll post more pics when i get her back from the clear bra guy and more driving impressions.

Jeff
I got some bypass pipes on my 958 CTT and it gave it an amazing sound, not too loud or annoying, just perfect. It only cost about 600 and also takes away some turbo lag while giving some more tq. Just have to wait for the tuners to make some that fit.

Keep in mind the tank sizes are also very different. IIRC, the 958 has a tank just under 27g, and the Macan is just under 20g.

Dang!
375-400?!?
In my 2.5 years I maybe hit 300 twice. And those were all expressway trips.
The sad thing is that I am very judicious about Sport mode and don't use it all that often.
Don't know if it's just psychological, but I like going over 300 on a tank without the low fuel light coming on.

Just filled up for the first time and calculated about 18mpg. I am not sure why my Cayenne did so well. I did not use sport much, and I did a lot of highway miles. Love the Macan!!

I agree, car definitely needs some more torque especially at this price point. But the thing drives so well it compensates for the lack of power.

I've never owned a Porsche. Have and have had x5 and x3s. I'm considering S or Turbo. Guys am I missing something here? It goes from 0-60 in 4.6?
