Porsche never really supported leases. An 80k BMW x5 will lease for low 900's...

Yes they are attractive. I'm thinking of financing a Macan S or Turbo because the leases are not attractive. At least I'll own after the term.

You do know that BMW artificially keeps the residual higer so you lease and lease and lease forever.

Why is it that east coast always has cheaper lease payments compared to Chicago area. It make no seans to me. Whats the difference, can I go to east coast lease a car and bring it back here, I would love to have a mecan turbo for 1300 compared to my 1778.

478 per month huge savings

You can lease your Macan from the east coast and have it shipped. I did it with my 991 (from TX dealership to CA) after all the local dealers kept jacking me around. Find a friendly dealer with the car/options you want and close the deal over the phone.

Or negotiate the pricing with an east coast dealer via phone then take it to a local dealer. I've found Hennessey Porsche in Atlanta to have very aggressive rates, especially for leases. I took one of their deals to my local dealer in PA and they were happy to match it exactly.

Yeah as long as you continue to lease which is why BMW does that. If you bought the car at the residual price after the lease you would end up paying more than the cars worth retail. But hey it works for BMW because they put a lot of cars on the road that way. In CA the guy working at Walmart can get into a brand new leased 3 series for ~$350 a month with just $2500 down.

You don't have to buy the car at the residual, you can just give it back.
It seems to me that it works for BMW and it works for us, I don't see a downside.

My daily driver is a pretty loaded leased BMW 550ix and my monthly payment is allot less than what the Macan S is leasing for and the the sticker price on my BMW is considerably higher.

I love Porsche's and presently own 2 and have owned 4 others in the past but it seems pretty clear that Porsche wants it's customers to buy their cars not lease them.

Do your homework about how leases work and it will take all the guess work out. Find out what the Money Factor is (intrest rate), Residual (% the car is expected to be worth at lease term and based upon months, mileage and trim level), MSRP and selling price. Once you have all those numbers, you can calculate all your own numbers and be in the driver seat. Dealer allocations and availability will factor in and that may be regional.

Porsche does support leases when they want to and they do it all the time. I picked up my 991 C2 last year on a 2 year, low mileage lease with a 79% residual, .002 MF and 8% off sticker. Would have been 80% residual with a stick or 75% on a C2S. They were overloaded with 991's and the lease deals back then were the best ever offered by them.

Leasing is all about timing. There is zero incentive right now to offer good deals on a Macan, zero. It's all about supply and demand.
