Test drove the MP4-12C today
The Hockenheim results are fairly interesting:
MP4-12C :- 1:08.7 (1 lap, Corsas)
458 :- 1:10.5 (supertest)
Anglesey National
MP4-12C :- 59.3 (damp, PZeros)
458 :- 59.2 (damp, MPSSs)
Both these tests were conducted following the pre-production amendments after the relatively poor Bedford and Rockingham tests, although the Anglesey car was the black one, so I'm not sure if that got the updates. The orange Hockenheim/Top Gear car definitely has.
Some of the rumoured manufacturer laps are pretty damn interesting too, so good that without proof nobody would believe them.

I don't really compare these cars for performance, as I see them as one in the same (similar performance, different methods). Obviously these cars are at a level that, if you're not a trained professional, the results can vary GREATLY.

If you can post a 7:28 on the NBR in 1 hotlap with a driver who's largely unfamilar with the car with some damp patches, why would you want to tune it?

Once they get this track monster, it will get shipped to a tuner, who will replace the turbos, up the boost (including some other standard stuff), and it will be run in a straight line for a few seconds at a time.
When he loses to a Gallardo or GT-R, he will go home and cry, complaining that the car sucks.
You know? I have a different view when looking at all of those cars...
Each of those cars has a unique goal (for me).
If I want a heavenly sounding engine, with beautiful lines, conservative road going manners - I'd purchase the 599 GTB/GTO (probably GTB and save the money).
If I want a car that SCREAMS for attention like a young girl thinking she is important (Lindsay Lohan comes to mind), with amazing performance - I'd buy the Aventador. (I do think this the meanest looking of the bunch, though)
If I want the latest technology and awesome turbo-charged performance, I'd pick the McLaren.
If I wanted a car that actually works, and does all of the things the other cars promise, reliably, I'd choose the Porsche 4.0.

just saw macca in person and not impressed with its looks. was a bare chassis next to it and with the carbon and aluminum it looked better than the finished one!
im sure it drives amazingly but i would want a n/a motor in this type car. i love my gtr for the power but still miss the feel and sound of my old gt3 engine. i would want both for 1/4 million dollars. italia remains top car.

1st place: Ferrari 458 Italia
It was a tough battle, but the Italia won, because it's "more mature" and it's faster at the limit.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to tune a 12C.
