love that they're making a whole series of track-focused cars now, the autobahncruiser concept is not going well on the track.
I thought all the cars would only come in black, the name is a bit mis-leading or pointless otherwise..

 

The word "Black" must be for MB’s and AMG’s 40 year relationship; misleading none-the-less.

 

cool car - didnt know it was in the making and love the fixed roof on it - hmm pricing must be outrageous though, a CLK black is a double a CLK AMG... so this car will be what about 100k or so...!?

The SLK55 Black Series was on display at the Atlanta AMG Meet last November. It was not sold in the U.S., but was street legal elsewhere.

There was also a short run of special "Asia-spec" SLK55s that were track prepped. Drove one in Barcelona last year.

This car has been out in Europe for a while now. Won't be arriving stateside.

 

I have never driven the car, nor read any reviews, but the entire purpose of the black series of cars is to move the AMG cars away from being 'German Hot Rods'. If the CLK black series is any indication, this should be no slouch in the corners.
