Our new 08 E63

Well, we love the car and the wife drives it everywhere which is great. Neither of us miss the Gallardo in any way. Only dissapointment is a major transmission failure Yup, in the shop at 1000 miles for a new tranny. I'm not too happy about it, but MB is replacing it and we should have it back in a few days. This car was broken in properly and no abuse in any way BTW. They said the pump failed and starved it of fluid. It basically ate itself from the inside out. Pulled the pan and nothing but metal. I'm hoping they do a good job on the replacement and the issues go away. First the Cayenne with problems now this??? I'm going to work through the issues as I love the car overall, but I think I'm done buying 100k cars. I've had nothing but bad luck. Here are a few pics. It is beautiful, drives great, and love everything about it.

Mercedes E class are great cars. Plenty of room, comfort, tech and most importantly, power! I bet that thing hauls...

Nice e63. Sorry about the tranny though. That's what warranties are for I guess. Enjoy it.

Hey, I work for an MB dealership. You have the 722.9 tranny in there which is very technologically advanced, but not prone to failure as far as I've seen. Unfourtunately it is a machine and there is a small percentage that have defects. Keep the faith in the product and it sucks that the tranny destroyed itself so early, but I'm sure they will put in a whole new unit and it will be back to 100% quickly.
It's a real beast ride, I hope you have fun killing ricers who think you're driving a slow family sedan.

Car has returned and feels good. Entire trans and torque converter is all new. Seems MB is having problems with the TQ converter being machined wrong. I'm guessing they have switched vendors??? Time will tell, but now I'm a little gunshy to drive the car the way it was designed
