2009 SL63 Driving Impression-Pics and Video

I had the amazing opportunity to spend the day with the first 2009 SL63 in the country...and man what an experience it was this car is a BEAST. Unfortunately the RS take off feature was shut off on this particular car. It feels extremely fast and is surprisingly comfortable. here are some pics for now, youtube is down but ill post videos as soon as its up, the exhaust notes are very exhilirating. A special shout out to ZAMIRZ for filming.

Front end looks like the Chrysler Cross Fire to me...I don't expect the sales to be to great with this cosmetic change...IMHO.

Thank you for sharing with us, I am totaly in love with mercedes's new fast cruiser and the 6.2L sportier revving engine when compared to the torque 55K. The SL65 AMG will be even better with the first time 7speed gearbox compared to the 04-07 65's with the 5speed box.

Actually, the SL65 will still be using the old 5-speed automatic. In fact only the SL63 (among the entire Mercedes-Benz lineup) will have the MCT 7-speed transmission.

Still cant get past the interior, wheels, and fenders... the front doesnt bother me as much anymore, but I still dont really care for it. How was the drive, as compared to a current SL65/55?

to be honest the car is much faster than I expected, the handling is much much better. The torque curve is far superior to the 65 and it far surpasses the 55. At times the car feels faster than the 430 and 997TT. From what my contact tells me the car is a hair slower than the SLR around the track and straight up (and that was by force, not by choice)

On a side note, I despised the look of the car until I saw it in person, and after getting to spend a good amount of time with the car and witnessing the comfort and improvements they made to the car, I must admit I now love the car.

I love this car. When I saw it first, the front didn't like me too much. But once I got used to see it, I love it as much as the previous SL
