Is it just me or does the wood trim bother others too? I, personally, can not stand the wood trim unless its dark grey or carbon. I see these AMG S65/63 CL65/63 SL65/63, etc, and what a waste of a car. I personally would love to get a g55, but I would have to change the trim out. Anyone see the trim on MB AMG site? It has a g55 with a graphite trim. That looks tiiiighhht.

there was a piano black wood trim that mercedes was offering a year or so ago on their amg models. it looked really nice, and didn't have the appearance of typical wood trim. however, it doesn't seem to be an option anymore. i'm guessing not enough people chose it.

 

i like it on a sedan or even a coupe. on a truely aggressive exotic car, wood is out of place. if you have problem with wood on a SUV or sedan, you're the minority.

 

I don't like wood trim either.

 

I've optioned for Designo Wood which is a tamo anthratice finish, I simply adore it on my SLK55 AMG which is pretty rare since I am the only one with wood veneer at the SLK55 forums.

I usually don't like wood trim, but this is a pleasant surprise; this one i really like

 

on my SL 55 AMG 2008 I have designo black wood, looks amazing, better then carbon.
on our G55AMG 2008 we have also designo wood, but I dont know whats its name, looks a bit orange but with white designo leather it looks nice.

No offense to those that do like it, but I can't stand wood trim in a vehicle.

 

I used to absolutely prefer aluminum and carbon over all other trims, but now I think aluminum looks cheap and carbon simply doesn't look very good inside a car.

Wood trims like bamboo and piano black first got me interested, now I will only put wood trims in my cars.


But I realized that each car has its own combo of leather and trim you can put in. Just because you like to dress your cars in a certain color combo, that does not mean you can do that to every car and expect it look nice. You just have to pick the best combo available within that model line.

 

Had to chime in. I like wood trim but it does depend on the combo. Funny thing about wood trim, it is mostly found on luxury vehicles and comes from an abnormal growth on a tree, normally from a fungus attack. I've always found that odd.
