Apparently Merc makes car seats with a sensor to switch off the side airbag. I thought it could've been simpler if the air bag can be de-activated by a key switch (like my R8).

Quick, back seat is not an issue. It's for the baby, the domestic helper or my mother-in-law only and no one is much taller than 5 ft.

I don't see the Audi RS4 on your list of options...is it available in Korea?

If so, either an RS4 or a C63. Pocket rockets are the best!

Better yet, wait for the new E63, due for launch around October 09.

C63 probly would do for your application. E63 would be better but new one is not available yet. CLS seems dated by now and it's based on an old E chasis.

CLS63

so sexxxy

another solution :

take a 1 year lease on any car that appeals to you and then get the RS6,if available by then.
IMO,this car is a really good choice for a sporty family car

It's legal to have a baby seat next to the door (what if you had 2 kids??) It is definitely SAFER to have the baby seat in the middle though. Keeps the kid farther from side-impacts no matter which side it comes from.

I just test drove a C63 yesterday and DAMN it was awesome. But the back seats are cramped and it would be a major PITA to get my 1.5 yr old in and out of it on a daily basis. Now, if you're only having to do it once or twice a week then I'd say it is worth the hassel!

Have you considered E63 if you need a back seat?

In my opinion W211 > W212, looks wise.

CLS63 - looks good, but imagine or try getting the baby seat in and out of the door opening. The low swooping roof line will make bending in and under the door opening difficult. IMO

C63 - Still looks good, good value for the money, overall smaller, but door openings and usable space is close to the same. If front seats are not all the way back, you would have an easier time getting child seat / child in and out of the car. More room inside than Rs4 and I am an Rs4 fan.

ML63 - Best choice of these options, it rides lower for easier access with baby and equipment. Fast, balanced, lots of room in the rear for stroller and other " baby" stuff....

Just my .03 worth

DO NOT GET a CLS if you have a baby or one on the way. We got ours in May 06 and found out the wife was pregnant a month later... it is miserable getting the kid in/out. I am counting down the days till Aug 09 till the lease is up... also FYI MB would not cut me any kind of deal when i tried to trade up and break the CLS lease (this is MB of Englewood NJ).

ML63 on the other hand is an awesome choice and very baby friendly.
