CLK63 question

Can you add back seats or a back seat to the CLK63.

I am looking at a CLK63 vs. 911. I have owned several 911s and felt I needed a change. The 911 has back seats, just enough to accomodate my 9 year old.

I understand about the weight savings, etc, but before you start flaming me....., I need to you know that I am justifying the car as a driver which means every blue moon my wife and son will want to drive in it together??

Tuner name is Kicherer, it was a project car they did. Not sure if they sell a kit but I would think a custom shop could do it, not sure of pricing and or safety requirement issues in the US. I would be interested to know more about other alternatives.

Get a C63 all-around better than clk, plus your back seat.

The BS has a weight limit for the rear (I believe it is 100lbs off hand) plus the seat backs are fixed so rear access is difficult. Either the wife or kid need to stay home.

IMHO, not worth the GUARANTEED 14k that carbon and leather work would cost given how hard it would be to even get people there (ehem, dont ask me how) its especially pointless. that said, I should let you know that the black series has been THE MOST AMAZING CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED...PERIOD...so in that sense its worth all the hassle...haha

How is clk63 bs compared to your gt3 as dd, performance, handling, fun, etc? I have 996tt but really look into clk63 bs+rear seats or may be c63. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. I went ahead and bought a CLK63 BS a couple of days ago and I am looking forward to driving it. I thought about a GT3 ot GT3RS, but went for the Black Series after talking to many of my Porsche friends that have had both.

By the way, GENTANI, thanks for the recommendation, but the C63 was never an option.

Its no gt3 as far as overall track dynamic, but all that kind of "wild" soul is there. Its literally like an untamed horse that you just learn to love. Its way more "supple" than the gt3 however and has a ton more leather and luxury incorporated with it. Plus...the whole 6.2l of displacement is nice too cause this baby has TORQUE!!!

Agreed, and a nice little collection of aftermarket goodies are available for some serious power (500+ hp)

Not that I think these cars can be an investment, but the C63 AMG and the C AMGs in general have depreciated so badly. I saw a 2009 8K mile C63 sell at auction for less than $50K last week. That is a huge depreciation for that many miles. I think the BS have suffered the largest of their depreciation from $135K sticker and although they will still fall, at think at a slow rate than the regular C AMG.

Just my two cents.
