Hi Guys,

I've been recording various cars for a software project, and was recently offered an opportunity to record a C63 AMG. Now I was wondering if there is a difference in sound between his car, and that of a CL63, CLS63, SL63 or E63?

I'm hoping someone who's driven these cars can shed some light. Thanks!

 

Yeah there's definitely a difference. The mufflers on the C63 have less baffling, hence the louder exhaust note compared to the other cars you listed. The CLK63 BS would sound similar to the C63. However, the new W212 2010 E63 has a similar exhaust note to the C63. My guess is they decided to carry over this sound to all the new AMG models coming out due to the well received accpetance.

 

Thanks for the info, I guess it's time to give the friend a call and record his C63 before the lease is up.
