Dd cl65
I was thinking about getting my wife a 2008 or 2009 CL65 as her daily driver (40 miles per day) - I've never been a huge fan of MB's for their terrible resale value, but if the price was right on a 10k mi car ($100-$105k), what is the general opinion on resale value after she puts another 30-35k on it over the next couple years - thus being an out of warranty 5 yr old car with 40-45k? It's between this and a new PTT.

Out of warranty they take a hit and can be difficult to sell if your wanting what its worth out of it. Awesome cars. Enthusiasts will always pay good money for it given its properly maintained and documented.

Price some replacement parts as well. The scheduled maintenance items aren't terrible but plugs, coil packs, and brake rotors (maybe just on the SL65?) are not cheap. Car price is cheap, but the operating costs are still that of an expensive car.

I suspected these were the opinions I would get. I've decided to go another route - PTT. It's always been on the list, but I drove one two days after the CL65 and just liked it more. Probably won't be saving much in depreciation, but staying under warranty is a key positive for me with these expensive cars. The CL65 is a freight train, like nothing I've driven before, but it just doesn't pack the off the line punch and on road confidence the AWD PTT provides. I keep seeing Panameras on the road and they just own it - both with wow factor and due to it's size. Thanks for the feedback.
