Mercedes AMG R230 SL55 P30
I have them all now. There 243 P30s sold worldwide in 2006, 169 in the US. Yours is pretty rare though- there were just 5 (041) Designo Graphite cars made that year, all with the (581) Black Exclusive Leather interior. All 5 were sold in the US. Looks like you got yourself a keeper!
Cheers for that! ;-)
This exclusive leather, BLACK/ANTHRACITE (581A), appears slightly dark green. I saw some other models with the same color code, which seems to be a different dye, resulting in a pure black.

The dealer knows probability theory, and with a touch of statistics and behavioral science, he gave you the universally safe answer - nothing could go wrong with that advice except you may lose $100-$200.
My experience, though, dealing with multiple generations of ABC valves - you should start looking for a good hydraulic shop or mechanic who knows how to deal with reman them with new o-rings. That will be the cheapest and most efficient option. Given that your car is starting to kneel)

I had my Mars Red ‘08 at a car show last Saturday, and it drew a lot of attention, with maybe 50% asking about my under hood mods. Half are cosmetic and half functional. Very functional. 77mm blower pulley, all metal pulleys and belt wrap kit., fuel loop conversion, Bosch 550cc injectors, larger intercooler for the blower, proper fluid pump and separate cooling systems for radiator and blower. All complemented by a parts specific tune from Eurotuned.
Not for the faint of heart…
But with the market so soft, it’d be foolish to move something as nice as yours. Wait, unless you’re seriously motivated for something else. Maybe install some of what I’ve done and be once again amazed with the car. There’s pics of mine here.
Best of luck whichever direction you choose!
