I live in Hong Kong currently which has a weird used car market (I am a Bentley owner and have discussed this in another thread so will not bore people with it again here). The car is a 2006 Maybach 57, unclear what the mileage is but mileage in Hong Kong is never very high. I have read a bit on this issue and generally people seem pretty positive about this kind of purchase, especially at an asking price of around US$43,600 - I can probably get the car at under US$40,000 and more like US$35,000.

Do people have advice about what to look for when I am kicking the tyres on this? My intention is to use it as a normal day to day saloon, particularly for carting around the family. I do not have a driver but it is possible I might hire one in the future. What are the main issues with this sort of car and particularly around the mid-2000s models?
