2002 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG
Sold w/ 33k miles.
1 bad MAF, 2-3 other electical glitches. All covered under warranty. No mechanical problems. Over two years spent 2 days at dealer for non-routine service.
2003 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG
3-4 electrical glitches, faulty water pump, broken sunroof track. Sold with 37k miles. Over two years maybe spent 2 days at dealer for non-routine service problems.
2004 Mercedes-Benz SL600 AMG
3-4 electical glitches, faulty water pump. Spent 5 days at dealer because water pump was updated the week I brought it in and it was thanksgiving weekend so part took a bit longer to get in. Electrical glitches were fixed during oil change.

2001 S600 - WORST CAR IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! Nothing but problems, at least 30 days a year in service. I feel bad for the poor soul who will own this beast outside of warranty.

2002 S55 - A couple trim issues here and there; otherwise flawless

2004 SL55 - Several problems with Airmatic; otherwise flawless

2006 E55 - Small Transmission Glitch + Check Engine + Airbag Warning light; once it was fixed, no further issues

80K on a 01 ML 320 with minor problems.
Once the car just seemed to play with the gas on its own, but it never returned and the mechanics couldn't see anything on their laptop either. Two years ago after doing donuts in the snow the power steering pump stopped working. And just last week the fuel pump broke down.
Thats about all for the unforseen things that happened...

1989 420SEL (40K miles): Great car, perfect.
1992 300SEL (S320) (60K miles): Some problems but mainly due to lack of driving it.
2000 S500 (25K miles): some glitches every now and then, also due to lack of driving it, but very pricy to fix.

Overall they are great cars.

2003 CL55 : had a few problems. Issues with the s/c engaging...later found out it was due to a cooling pump that had failed. issues with gas lid closing and some rough shifting while at mid to high speeds. problem happend around 36k miles. Warranty covered everything and also fixed motor/tranny mounts (est. $3.5k for all the work done). From then to now at 46k miles, the car hasn't had any more problems....just gave the car to my dad a few days ago...

2004 SL500 : a few different little problems but nothing major. just small things.

Over all, i think Benz is a hit an miss. I have a friend with a CLS55, and his car had seen the dealer 3 times the first month, and another 2 times the following month. ended up the dealership bought the car back. But I also know other CLS owners with NO problems.

'03 E320 - had it for 30K miles. All kinds of electrical issues. The MFD would scream "Visit Workshop" for any number of different reasons. SRS multiple times. Brakes 2x. Had issues with stereo cutting out a few times. Sunroof needed to be resynched twice. SBC brakes felt horrible.

I can't even remember all of the crazy stuff that went wrong with that car.

Couldn't wait to turn that car in.

98 CLK 320 - 35k miles in 3 years. no major problem but rattles like hell. wasn't crazy about it.

03 SL55 - fuel pump noisy behind driver seat. very annoying & didn't bother to fix. minor seat rattle noise. enough reason to sell.

06 CLS55 - almost 10k miles in a year. love the car. flawless until this week after sitting for 2 weeks. ESP not working etc. keyless-go not working properly. car doesn't like to sit i guess. still have to say this is a good car. will buy again.
