Good deal or not - E55

I am picking up a new Daily Driver and or a "short weekend get away car" and really am not in tune with E55 prices. Through the small amount of homework I did, it looks to be pretty decently deal and close to auction prices. I was hoping you E55 guys or just Mercedes guys could chime in if you have an opinion.

2003 E55
Silver w/ Black Interior
40k miles
Good condition
Pretty Basic car as far as options
1 owner car
dealer throwing in a 12 month / 12k mile aftermarket warranty

$39,000

Thanks guys!

Its an ok deal, the aftermarket warranty won't cover much or will have huge deductibles.
I would look for an '04 still under factory warranty and have them throw in extended warranty for free.

You can get 04-05's for about $45k~+ or really good condition 05's with 30k miles and full options for about $50-$55k

STOP> Get your hand away from even buying that thing.

If you want a E55... There is a STAGE 3 Kleenmann E55. Silver, valentine 1 etched mirror and alot more, for sale in your area.

A guy on the www.mbworld.org forums, sold his stage 3 E55 for a porsche 996 tt.

The dealer gave him 51- and they are selling it for 55-.

Heres the link its a great deal, man its a fast car! Im getting a stage 1 installed this week.

I will agree, I have seen and worked on many early 03 and 04 55s and they can be troublesome. Nothing major, mostly small interior stuff.

Agreed!

My '03 W211 was a total POS. Get the newest one you can swing - even if it has more miles.

Yup, I did a last minute change and purchased a 745Li on Tuesday with a full Hamann Body Kit, Hamann Tune, Hamann Exhuast and 22" Wheels.

Thanks everyone for the advice on the 2003 E55, After reading many of the post I decided that an 03 E55 may not be worth the headache especially being out of warranty! The 745 is not that fast, but ist a nice big dily driver. Being 6'6, the BMW does allow me to fit a whole lot better.....
