I have no idea what your factory pulley is vs the 165mm.

However, yes, they are correct. Do not up reduce the pulley size without engine management software. If it is fact only 10hp, you can probably get away with it. At which point I would say why bother? It's only 10hp. If you are pumping a lot more air in with a smaller pulley and your ECU can't adjust for the changes you will have big problems with detonation. Don't cheap out. It's a nice car.

You can do a search on Mbworld , there are several guys running the ASP pulley which is larger than 165mm with a factory ecu. The ecu will adjust some for the increased boost, typical gains are 40 to 50 rwhp with a pulley swap alone. If anything the ecu tune is only good for 10rwhp after the pulley install. They tend to run very rich from the factory.

If you are not going to be installing headers or other power enhancing mods on top of the pulley you will be fine with the factory ecu tune.

yes i agree 100% with rflow you will get 30-40rwhp with pully alone and maybe another 10rwhp with ECU. i seriously would not use that shop that told you, you will only get 10 hp outta a pully alone. either they are stupid or they are tryin to get more money outta you. either way i would search for another shop.

what are your long term goals with this car? are you just addin more spice to it or are you gonna go all out stage 5?

Absolute garbage.
My car runs richer.
A/F flattens out at 10 pretty quickly.

50+hp and 80+ft lbs for $1,200.

Search on ASP pulley or get the new VRUS pulley tensioner kit on the E55 forum on MB World.

Run lean? ... tell us who they were.

They use a silicone fluid to dampen vibrations from the engine(from combustion). Basically, its to save bearings and the crank from some wear and tear.

Why wouldn't you use an adjusted ECU with this package?

Quote: where can one go about purchasing this ASP pulley? Thanks
You can purchase from here http://www.k1motorsport.com/.
You should also look into the new Evotech pulley or wait for one of VRUS's new multi-piece units. I have had the ASP pulley on for a long time with-out a single problem but if I had to do it all over again it would be one of the above. (just my 2 cents).

FYI: The ASP, Kleeman and old Renntech are all modified stock MB balancers. I forgot about Evosport they make one from scratch which also looks very good.
