Fs: D200
Fs: D200
My dad's D300 came in Friday, and since he couldn't talk me into buying his D200, it's for sale for anyone interested. He's a novice photographer, and very busy, so his 200 never got a whole lot of use, and thus is in pristine condition. He's selling the body with the LCD FlipUp cap/hood, manuals, boxes, and D200 field guide. He also has a lens that came with the body that he's selling as well AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED.
$800 for the body
$950 for the body and lens
I've been asked this question a couple times so I'll post it...he estimates the amount of shutter cycles at between 750-1000.

I am really glad I flipped mine early on......These things are taking a beating now with the D300 being out. I bet we will see them in the $500 range within a few months. That being said, its still a bad *** camera and worth every penny even when it was at retail.

Guys maybe you can help me. My girlfriend has been wanting a D200 for a while and I have no idea about cameras. I was going to get her one for Christmas but it's very confusing for me. When I'm searching for prices I see a range for the D200 from $499 to $1500. I know some of these don't have a lens or some have certain lenses, but why the huge range? Should I get her a few lenses to go along with it? Finally, this is the first I'm hearing about the D300, should I get her that? I'm looking to stay in the $1500 range. Thanks in advance.

For body only D200's are about $1400, D300's about $1800.
The 18-135 kit lens is about $300, but you really should go for the 18-200 VR lens ($700).
If you have to buy new go for the D300. Especially if she's the type that appreciates the latest and greatest...
Edl,
You should probably check your pricing resources.......

I'm not so sure I'd trust that link...The deals seem far too good to be true. Try checking eBay first. There is no way you should be able to get a new D200 with 2 lenses and whatever other crap they bundle it with for $1100. I'd be careful...
Buy from B&H in NYC...there are only a handful of honest camera places in NY, most are borderline criminal in how they do business. Buy B&H, Adorama and JR Music World are all great places to shop..
