They are great...I find myself using my bose quiet comfort headphones for mostly travelling on the plane....but no doubt the acoustics of the Shure's are second to none.

goddamn... too bad I already have E3Cs... would've gotten this instead for sure

How are the Bose QuietComforts for noise cancelling? I heard noise cancelling > sound isolation for places with the same noise (ie. engine noise on a plane). What's your opinion?

I love the sound isolating capabilities of my Shure headphones, but it's a pain to take out and put back in when someone talks to you.

Great product and a great price!

My wife and I both have a pair. Watching a movie on DVD in-flight now sounds pretty much like our home theater!

I had both the E500 and the E5c (I lost both of them... argh!) and for some reason, I though the E5cs sounded better because they had more base and were more comfortable.

Anyways, that's a great price...

Actually, I called Shure before I bought these to see if there were any differences between e5 and e5c. There is none. e5 is sold at the commercial equipment level (ie. DJ stores, DJ equipment, High end audio etc) e5c is sold in retail stores (ie. Apple stores) Nonetheless, both perform identically.

Oh yeah, I was talking about the E500 and E5/E5c though... but yes, as you said, the E5 and E5c are the exact same thing. Great headphones... you will never want to go back to your old ones after you use em.

What color are these? I know you can get the E3 and E4's in black or white.
