WTB: Nextel Phone
WTB: Nextel Phone
My i870 just took a crap and both screens stopped working (this is my 3rd nextel phone that has broke
). I am looking for a new phone now and really don't want to spend too much on it as I just bought a new digital camera... Anyone have ANY Nextel phone sitting around I could just throw my SIM into?? Let me know which model, condition and price!
Thanks,
Evan

I just got rid of my Blackberry 7520 for Nextel...I also got rid of Nextel altogether. Their service sucks around my office and their phones are about 3 years behind in technology & design.

Let me know what you want for it, the I930 is the silver/black big brick with windows and crap right?? I don't need all that, but if the price is right I could go for it...

Evan,
Get the new ic502 hybrid. It is $49.00. It uses the Sprint voice and Nextel two-way. Best setup I ever had. Plus they will give you a one year contract (if you ***** enough).

I know that you already have the new phone, but in case it helps you or another person...
I hated, repeat...hated, my Nextel service. Crappy service and overpriced plans. Anyway, they let me switch all three lines over to the Sprint side of the house without having to pay any cancellation fee's. However, I did have to re-up with a new contract.

Option 1:
I leave my old phone number and sign a new contract with sprint and get a new phone... GREAT I need a new phone number to deal with...
Option 2:
Keep my phone number, but have to pay the $200 cancle fee with nextel, then resign with sprint and pay FULL PRICE for a new phone as I would just be transfering... GREAT so I keep my number but pay out the *** for Sprint which really isn't much better than Nextel...
I give up, just gunna deal with the crappy service till Feb. then probably light my phone on fire and throw it through the front window of the closest Nextel retailer

Evan
why not drop it by a repair store and get it fixed? Costs between $35 and 55 if you don't have insurance and they'll either fix whatever is wrong with it or swap you out with the same or comparable model if they can't. If it's an 870 and not able to be fixed they'll most likely put you in an i880 since that's the only current model that carries the same features. Don't have to deal with a new contract and you'll have a working phone.
oh, and with nextel is generally better to not just put your SIM into a new phone like you'd do with GSM phones, just use a SIM swapper at a store to transfer your info to the new phone's card.
