**Beware of Just Tires in Fairfax

I was hearing a clinking sound in my rear left tire and I went to Just Tires to have them dismount and mount back the tire on my new HRE wheels last week. They found a broken TPM sensor inside but I noticed yesterday that some parts of the lip on the wheel had grooves in them. I took the carback to show them but all I got was a bunch of BS. I know it wasn't a curb rash because the scrathes are more on the inside and edges than on the outside.

I should have checked out the wheel before I left that place...live and learn.

sounds like they dont have a "touchless" tire mounting machine. That happened to my old Champions.

They did the same thing to my stock rims on the M5. I didn't really inspect the rims either.

My rule is pick a shop, get to know the tech and never go elsewhere. I now have one guy that does all my work on the Cobra, 996, BMW, and lincoln. No worries and now is a family friend. Get great rates too! Only three miles from the house. Emergencies are emergencies. Sometimes you don't have a choice but to go to the unknown.

Radial tire in Silver Spring is supposed to be the best in the area...but Intersport has one as well.

Mr. Tire scratched my rim really bad the second week I had my car when they were repairing a nail puncture.

They guarantee scratch free mounting.

Scratch Free Mounting

Designed for use on Ferraris, Porsches, Mercedes, and BMWs, our mounting equipment provides scratch-free handling of expensive alloy wheels. Each wheel is clamped from the inside, and a special “mounting head” prevents metal-to-metal contact. Twin Teflon breaking rollers provide “no violence” breaking by gently pinching the two beads together rather than using a side-breaking shovel to rupture the bead. It safely mounts high-performance low-profile and runflat tires as well as tires with normal aspect ratios. We handle tires equipped with TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems) with ease.

^^ I use and highly recommend tirevan - they match tirerack's prices and deliver (i.e. come bring and mount your tires @ your home or office)

I asked them and they said:

1) Mounting tires purchased through TireVan:
$25.00 per tire with a aspect ratio of 45 or above. This includes
mounting, balancing, wheel weights, valve stems and disposal of
old tires.
$30.00 per tire with an aspect ratio of 40 or below. (still includes
everything listed above!)
2) Mounting tires NOT purchased through TireVan:
$5.00 additional charge per wheel on top of aspect ratio prices
listed above. Again, this would still include mounting, balancing
etc.

Radial in Silver Spring got me out of a bind this weekend. They were extra slammed on a Saturday, close at 11 and still mounted two for me so I could race this morning. Sam hooked me up!
