2nd ticket for me recently. I've just purchased a few Hide Away Plate Holders from Swift via ebay - $60 each.

I'm going to mount them on the Porche and Viper very soon.

Post some pics when you get it installed! Sucks that higher end cars get targeted more.

Will do - looks to be a good fit for the Viper and 997.

I think some police target high end cars - maybe they figure the drivers can afford it better than an older middle of the pack car. Probably right but still not fair.

I guess drivers who spent all their money on cars like me have to play by the rules

I have to park all of my high end cars in the parking lot by my tent.

A tent would be nice.

I got ticketed in DC for not having a front plate - but here the catch:
a) at the time, my car was parked at a fully paid up meter (I was gone)
b) my car is licensed in Maryland!

I've never seen such BS from the District in my life. Ticketing parked cars from out of state for a front plate? You've got to be kidding me. A-holes.

One of the many reasons I don't go into the Distric much. Except by metro.

FYI plate on the dash will still get you a ticket. FFX county 5-0 was kind enough to tell me that pulling me over did me a favor because a high speed accident would have caused the plate to come back and cut my head off. Now i keep it under my seat

I've been pulled over twice for no plates and both times i've told them that I am waiting for the bracket to be ordered from BMW. So far i'm 2 for 2 with warning tickets...knock on wood

I've never used a front plate. In the past, I considered the no-front plate a 'sexy tax'. You pay it every so often so keep your car lookibg sexy. You know, akin to the 'high speed tax' you pay out in the mid-western states. Did you know that no points transfer to Maryland? Just pay the ticket and go, no other consequences.
Anyway, I've been fortunate enough only to get warnings for no front plate in the porsche. I think the cops prefer my current ride. hahaha

You seem to use the word "exotics" quite a bit. Can you tell me what constitutes an "exotic" car, because one day I want to grow up and be a baller too? Is a mass produced 911 Turbo by definition an exotic? I always thought Lambos and Ferraris generally are exotics. I don't mean to **** off Porsche owners here (I am one myself), but I always thought that the only Porsche worthy of that label would be a CGT, a 959 or maybe an original 1973 RS, unless of course you are able to get your hands on, say, a 917. Also, is the value of a car a factor? Just curious. Thanks, Al

I've seen people with the frames mounted to the Tow mount on the front. Don't know if it was fabricated or bought. You can take it off and put the cap back on for showing and easily put it on for when just driving around town.
