Cheesesteak Run to Philly - Saturday, April 10

Not trying to take away from the Skyline Drive the same day, but I wanted to pass this on in case anyone's interested. Some of the local people from the Mischief forum are doing a drive up to Philly to get cheesesteaks on Saturday, April 10. If you miss out on this one, I'm also planning a bigger "Euro" cheesesteak run for mid July.

Meet at 11:00am at the Park & Ride off Snowden River Parkway, just north of Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, MD (map below). Hang out, get gas if needed, and leave promptly at 11:30am. That will get us to Tony Lukes around 1:30pm.

Address to enter in Google Maps for the Park & Ride: Snowden River Park & Ride @39.193224,-76.810852

Information about Tony Lukes: http://www.tonylukes.com
Address:
39 East Oregon Avenue
Philadelphia, PA. 19148

I was just in the city and want to warn you about the road conditions in the area. The pot holes are realllllllly bad. I don't mean to be a buzz kill. It's a nightmare driving in the city and especially where Tony Lukes is, even in an SUV.

We've done a Cheesesteak Run three years in a row with a few hundred cars coming each time we do it. The lowest cars are usually about an inch and a half off the ground at their lowest spot and as long as you are careful, you'll be fine. Although this one on 4/10 will be small (probably about 20 or so cars), I'm shooting for 75-ish cars for the all Euro one in July.

No worries. Skyline Run is all about no-traffic twisty back roads, mountain roads, cornering speed, great views, and hole-in-the-wall restaurants. This just looks like a drive up I95. It's all up to what kind of roads you like to drive on.

This will be small, probably only 20-ish cars. I'm just posting it here in case anyone wanted to have a nice small cruise to get a cheesesteak, no big deal.

I'm planning a bigger one in late July that will piggyback off one of the bi-weekly GTG's (I've already spoken to Berk about this) that should probably have about 75 or so and it will be mostly euro cars.

I've been there probably 50 times or so and I've never had anything other than their cheesesteak. I have always wanted to try the pork sandwich with the broccoli rabe but I just can't get away from the cheesesteaks lol.

Best cheesesteak can be found elsewhere in the city. The cutlet is amazing. Matter a fact, i might ride down there right now!!!

Yep, can't wait. I have tried without luck to make these in the past. Very much eager to eat a real cheese steak.
