Skyline Run is a DC/MD/NoVA driving event for European sport and super cars. We drive on the best roads the area has to offer. These roads have the perfect mix of corners, scenery, and low traffic. The turnout to expect on any Skyline Run is around 30 cars which we've found to be the perfect number. The total event duration is about 5 hours which includes a 1-2 hour stop for lunch. Each Skyline Run has a different route. This route will not include Skyline Drive but will be full of truly amazing back roads. Lunch will be in Middleburg, VA. Our starting location will be in Leesburg, VA at 10am. I will post the map of the route closer to the date of the event. But I promise, these will be the best roads we've ever driven! Here are a few shots from when I was testing the route. Notice the lack of traffic, and this was on a Friday 4-6pm!

Where to eat in Middleburg:

The blue arrow is where we will be entering the town.
The blue lines are parking spaces. Bring a few quarters if you want to park on the street or just risk it, I've never seen a meter maid.
The red circles outline places to eat and the red dots are where the entrance is.
A few of the menus can be found here:
http://www.thefrenchhound.com/
http://www.melloout.com/
http://www.hiddenhorsetavern.com/
http://www.redfox.com/dining.html
And menus are always posted outside of each dining establishment.

Remember to bring your cameras and car mounted cams for the video!!!

We didn't have enough footage to work with on Skyline Run III to make a good video so we're working on just making a general Skyline Run movie. We still need all the footage we can get so please bring your cameras!

That's just the way that it all started out on the e9x m3 forum - m3post.com. I'm sure the guys wouldn't mind at all if an IS-F or GTR came

I'm planning a buddy trip down Skyline Drive sometime in the next few weeks. Would you mind sending me the route you took?

I'm also considering doing it as a day trip from the Fairfax area. If we entered Skyline Dr at Front Royal, how far south do you think is doable? I'm also wondering if it would be best to go straight down and come back the exact same way or whether there are other roads that would make a good loop.

With 2 of us in the Atom, we're not likely to pack enough stuff for an overnight trip, but I guess we could if we really had to. Just need a sunny weekday and open roads . . .

I ended up not going on the run, but was also curious as to the route, so here's the route they took (got the link from M3post):

Looks like a nice route.
