where to get tires mounted

Hey guys.

Just picked up a set of hollow turbo twists (thanks Matt r_Matt_6) so need to mount some new tires on them as well as on my 19's. Here's the breakdown, need to mount tires on:

18 x 8 (stock hollow turbo twists)
18 x 11 (stock hollow turbo twists)
19 x 11 (Champion RG5B 3 piece wheel)

Thanks guys. I will already have the tires. Just need mounting. Thanks.

They do and have a call in to them. Was talking to Al Leung though and he brought up a great point that the high speed tires mounted on a mobile machine could be questionable. I do have a call in to them though.

mount

Berk,

Try, the tire van(mobile) the have a roadforce machine on the truck. I have bought tires from them and they came to my office and mounted and balanced. Not sure if they will just do a mount and balance but worth the call. they are in chantilly. http://www.tirevan.com/default.aspx

Re: the tirevan -- was not happy with them at all.

This weekend, I used their online system to buy 4 tires and set-up an install time. Everything seemed good; the way it works is you pick out your tires, provide your credit card, and they do everything but charge your account. They then call you back the next business day to verify your appointment time and charge your account at that time.

Well, when I shopped online, they had a very good deal on a set of Pirellis -- it looked good, so I gave them my credit card etc. Then today, they call to 'confirm the appointment'. During the call, they told me that the pirellis I ordered (and were still at that point available on their website!) were sold out, but that they had a newer version of the same tire available, and would I like that? And oh, by the way, it would be $200 more.

I pointed out that they were still, even at that very moment, advertising on their website the less expensive set of Pirellis (which they described as being the same?!?), and suggested that they should honor their advertised price. Nothing doing. So, from my point of view, it's a bait-and-switch. Not good business practices at all.

Anyway, your mileage may vary -- I chose to cancel the transaction (rather than paying hundreds more than the price I had signed up for), and will get my tires elsewhere.

^^^Interesting, I didn't have the same experience with them. I found their service to be very fair. I'm glad they stood by their principles and cancelled your order when you requested it without hesitation. Sorry for your experience with them. G/L w/ the search. Try DiscountTireDirect.com. Those guys are GREAT as well for new tires.

well

to say that they stood by their principles and cancelled the order without hesitation is sort of right -- it might be more correct, to say that <I> stood by <my> principles and cancelled my order rather than paying way more than was originally agreed.

But like I said, your mileage may vary. Personally, I wouldn't trust a place that advertises a deal to get you in the door, then tells you that the deal you came in for isn't available, but here's something much more expensive. You know, since you're already here, and all... to me, that's a classic bait and switch; if intentional, it's a real (legal) problem. If unintentional, I would think it honorable to make good on the advertised price, or at least work towards some sort of accord.

no worries. i just picked up a set of Hankook V12's from them and they were great. Not 100% positive they have the Pirelli's, but worth a shot. Try calling them as well. They are now sponsors on MAMC.

Most of you know, and some may not when buying from Direct or Tirerack, their fitaments are based on your factory rim size. They will flag you and call you to confirm your tire size if you are ordering for a custom rim, etc. It's not a bait and switch from them, it's a factory fitament issue and some people really don't know what they are ordering. Just a heads up.

^^ That's right. When I had my E46 M3 and ordered a set of BBS CH's and PS2's I got a call from them saying that the fitment would be very aggressive and it may cause rubbing. Really cool that they actually call to make sure and offer some advice IMO.

.....A-Hole......Sleep w/ one eye open my friend....one eye open.....

BTW - building off of Scott's post, agreed. DTD shows 285's for the rears on the 4S/TT's, but the actual fitment is 295. I notified them of this. TR is correct though.

Do NOT use TireVan! I just spent $1000+ on new Pirelli rears for my Gallardo and they scuffed up one of my Callisto wheels! Seriously, they are in the business of tires and they do this 24/7 and they can't f**** put a tire on without scuffing up a Lamborghini wheel??....Really???! Are they f**** serious?!

I will give them credit for paying for the repair and luckily it will look brand new again, but it's the principle of the whole thing. Have some damn respect for people's freakin property!

I would AVOID TireVan and go elsewhere. They will NEVER get any referrals from me.
