Our first short
Our first short
Hey guys,
Heather and I just finished our first video together, and we figured we'd share with fellow Mid-A 6Speeders. While it's not a finished piece (this was just a tech demonstrator for us) I wanted to get some thoughts which I'd incorporate into the second half. All comments and critiques are more than welcome!

Saw it yesterday, nicely done...elements of seductiveness, dark overtone, nice sound track and artful with simple (real style no special effects or wild video tricks) yet effective cinimatography. What is left to finish up the piece?
As for the rest, we had an entire screenplay lined out originally, but **** hit the fan as we kept getting stopped by the cops, my car battery died, had all sorts of rookie mistakes and technical glitches, and only had 1 hr of availability with Corrie to shoot.
I decided to share this so I could at least get some input on the cinematography. I have a lot more stories I want to tell, both car and non car related - this attempt was the first babystep!
Question # 1: Heather & I
Question # 2: To add value to our lives by learning a new skillset. To have fun during that learning process shooting things we are both passionate about - In this case, that's ******* and cars. Once we master cinematography, we'll move on to something else.

$25 from Babies R Us. $3 extra for the replacement program. Replace for free after imploding it on every shoot. Best/cheapest filmmaking tool ever =)
Great film work, I saw it when you first posted it on Facebook and quickly gave it the thumbs up there. Elements that I liked were the subtle sensuality rather than the overstated elements.
Thumbs up from me on things like:
- her flinging the shirt directly at the camera, great aim!
- bit with the makeup brush, the smoke dust being captured by the film and blowing on it are great elements, very well done.
- gentle & playful smile as she checks her look in the mirror
- music timing with the closing of the door
- overall color transitions (red, blue, gold) for the various scenes
I also dig the end credit section showing the baby stroller gig, things like that are interesting to us non-professional movie types.
Keep up the great work, looked great and I am sure you had a lot of fun doing it!
