We say goodbye to a fallen brother...
My deepest sympathies to all his love ones. I never got to hang out with him much but at the drives and car meet we did talk. He was real cool down to earth bald guy who drove black Lambo in flip flops.
RIP Mickey.
RIP Mickey.
And the minute the key came out of the ignition the microfiber towel would be out as well! I always smiled to watch him eye every line of the car, daring a fingerprint to show itself, and then give it all another once over after every smudge and bug was long gone. One of many many fond memories that I'm thankful for. Such a tragedy to not be able to look forward to seeing him again.
Here is a link to his videos on youtube.... http://www.youtube.com/user/CarScrubs?feature=watch
He made a nice video of my car as I always wanted to hear it take off.... Mike, you will be greatly missed!!!!
At Maple Lawn Cars & Coffee this morning, Mike came up in conversation and it was very humbling to me how some people hadn't ever met Mike before, or had only met him for a brief time, but how much of an impact they had on him. Even those that did not know him closely knew that he was a great guy just because of his presence, and also from reading the responses to this thread. He's someone we should all aspire to be like.
Maybe someone that knows his family can send them the link to this thread?

Those that want to be included in the video can include a message to the family at Cars, Cars & Cars at Bretton Woods or at Raise a Glass in Honor of Mikey V. at Hunter's Inn.
Never had the pleasure of meeting Mike, but I remember seeing him around some of the meets from the pictures shown. My condolences and rest in peace Mike. It is easy to tell by everyone here that he was a great individual.
Wow....I only met him once at a meet but, he was really a nice guy and I do recall he was standing close to his car with an eye on it. I made sure to be careful not to get to close but, I had to see that beautiful car. Really sorry to hear about this with a member of the community.
RIP.....
RIP.....
Several have mentioned that they'd like to have something to display in Mikey's memory - especially as so many car events are coming up. Heather has come up with a decal design and our host for Cars, Cars & Cars - Rockville Audi, have generously offered to to purchase the decals. They will be available at Bretton Woods for free, however, we will be collecting to make a donation to Mikey's favorite charity or one selected by his family.

I think the response from everyone that knew him or knew of him says a lot about the person he was. I had been thinking of him the weekend he passed cause I was hoping he'd come out for CCC. I had no idea that I'd hear news a day later that he left us.
I remember seeing my friend's update on FB, I thought it was either a joke or I was reading it wrong. About 5 minutes later, I saw the email in my inbox. I can't forget that moment. I was in shock. I had to read it many times to really believe it.
We lost a great friend and a great guy. Michael was a true car enthusiast. We shared many local events, drives, lunches and dinners. Sometimes I would look at the list of attendees for the upcoming events and when I saw Michael's name on the list, I knew it was going to be a great event and I had to attend.
It was always fun hanging around him. We miss you Michael. Rest in peace brother.

Mikey - we couldn't have asked for better weather today. We know you were up there looking down on us as we gathered in your memory. There were smiles all around as we told stories and had a toast in your honor. Your sister is just as warm and friendly as you were. RIP brother.
