Warning about a local
Warning about a local
I'll try to make this short and sweet.
I was physically assaulted by a local this weekend. He was drunk and accused me of flipping him off (I did not do anything to prompt his actions, I was sitting down and engaged in a conversation about 4Runners with a friend of mine). He came up to me, grabbed me by the throat, and pushed me back in my chair. Had my friend that I'd been chatting with not grabbed my chair in time, I would have likely gone all the way back and had the back of my head slam into the concrete.
The entirety of our interaction prior to the incident had been very friendly and constructive. He said he helped organize the car show at Velocity 5 in Centreville a couple weeks ago, which raised money for wounded vets. As a disabled vet, I fully support those kinds of activities. (I didn't know the show was even happening until I arrived upon invitation to hang out by a friend of mine.) I think the event could have had a much better turnout had it been promoted, so I offered to help spread the word online for those kinds of events. Again, everything we said to each other was very friendly and very constructive.
Because he was recently involved with organizing that car show, and because he said he goes to Katie's C&C, it's obvious he is involved with the local car scene. After he attacked me, I was told by a few people that his behavior that night was not uncommon for him. Based on my experience with him (attacked for no reason and nearly being hospitalized) and what others have told me, I'm getting the word out about the danger he poses.
I'm not going to post his name publicly, but those of you that are friends with me on FB know who it was.
