Nuzzo Motorsports and At Speed Motorsports Join Forces for 2006
Nuzzo Motorsports owner Tony Nuzzo and At Speed Motorsports owner Bob Miller announced today they are joining forces to campaign three MINI Cooper S’s for the full 2006 Grand-Am Cup Series ST class season.
The team will race under the Nuzzo - At Speed Motorsports banner and will be based out of the At Speed Motorsports shop in Savage, MD. The two Nuzzo Motorsports MINI’s that ran in 2005 will be completely refurbished, and a third car will be constructed for the 2006 season.
“This is a very exciting time for all of us; by joining with the At Speed team we have strengthened our team and added the components and necessary talent we need to go out and win races” Nuzzo said.
Miller reinforced the sentiment. “We’re looking forward to moving to Grand-Am Cup and its endurance racing format. Tony has done a fantastic job developing these cars over the last three years, as demonstrated by his podium at Watkins Glen this year. We, in turn, took the Volvo S60 R streetcar and turned it into a top 5 SPEED World Challenge GT car in 18 months. Working together and pooling our experience should result in three top contenders.”
Bob Miller will lead the driver line up for the new car and pair with either co-driver Scott Poirier or co-driver Paul Gerrard. The driver line up will also see team owner Tony Nuzzo once again paired with Steve Pattee in the number 20 car. The driver line up for the third car will be announced shortly."
For Sale: Well this is the third mini that was talked about. It was never completed before the plug was pulled. It has a brand new, fully built motor, motec system, full suspension, front mount intercooler, ready to be raced with only about 30 hours of work left.
