yes, it is definitely going in my MINI. track speeds are getting fast as are g-loads under braking and cornering. it has become a "need to have" item. i'll post some pics after the install....

the physical dimensions of the seat really won't be a problem.....i checked about five times! the top of the seat looks like a set of carribu antlers, but it isn't as wide as it appears. they aren't much wider than my buddies sparco evo2's. the first hurdle to installation is because i require the GT (wide ***) version. the factory side mount brackets will require modification. a macinist/tool/die maker friend can make whatever i can describe. i'll post pics when i'm done...

stock passenger seat is out and new Cobra seat trail fitted. no unsuspected problems. some welding will be required, as anticipated. at least my butt fits in the seat and the seat fits in the car in the correct position. MINI tech buddy is coming over tomorrow (he is getting my old seats) and a visit to my favorite machinist....i'll let you know how it goes, but so far so good (while retaining the MINI slider mechanism).

entry/exit is actually easier than i expected. i modified a few mounting points to be able to retain the factory sliders. w/ the seat in its rearward most position, entry/exit isn't bad. you still have to sit on the side bolster and slide/drop into the slot. i had to practice in the comfort of my driveway before attempting this move in public. i thought that i might have to sign up for yoga class, but i'm o.k. i'm rapidly approaching 50 and not as nimble as i used to be, but this is fine.
