  1. The S has 165hp out of the box.
  2. The John Cooper Works factory installed kit gets 200hp at a cost of $5,500.00 installed. You retain your factory warranty with this. It entails new exhaust, new head, new smaller pulley.
  3. You can achieve 200+hp via aftermarket at about $1,800.00. It entails new exhaust, new smaller pulley, new cold air intake.
  4. There are now several ways of getting 240hp. It entails everything in #2 + ECU upgrade, header and big throat throttle body.
I am going for #3. I already have the exhaust. The header is on the way, and I am waiting to hear from my tuner regarding the other stuff.

BTW, my tuner is http://www.mini-motorsport.com/
Randy is an absolute Guru with these cars and tests and tests and tests components to intelligently direct his clients. He is to MINI what IA, EVO and PES is to the TT's.

I'm glad to see Mini's on the list! I'm interested in getting a mini - but seeing as I just got the GT2, I don't know when I'll be getting one! However, I'll be checking up on you guys, and hope to get one soon - so I can play on the Forum as well!

KPV you're my idle - wanna swap? You get your dream car and I get mine!!

KPV

Hey there,

Thanks for the invite - well at least letting me know when it was. 03C4S told me about it as well. I do hope to make it. I read that it might be the last one you're having of 03....is this true? I hope not, b/c I might be going out of town that weekend, and wouldn't be back in time.....booooo

Ken,

Your MINI looks gorgeous!! One of these days I'll see it in person. Perhaps at the Pocono track day. Were you planning on bringing your MINI?

I went bonkers on the MINI Cooper S, and have 2 of them! One stock, one pretty well modded. But no photos as of yet. Someday!

I'm going to 16" wheels on my stock S which has 17" s-lites. I'm getting the V-spokes. Then a cold air intake, a quiet exhaust upgrade (perhaps Borla), and we'll see after that. You have the Quicksilver, correct? How's the noise level on that? I don't mind noisy, my other S has the Magnaflow, but I need a break from that at times!

S-lites currently on the modded one as well. Would like to replace. The SSR's are incredibly light, but for the money, I think I will eventually go with Kosei. Also nicely light, but half the cost.

O.K. Bye for now!
