Mini JCW

Just wondering what you guys think about the Mini JCW. I have heard from a lot of people that it is a fun little car to drive, that it drives like a go-kart. I have read the website and it gets great gas mileage as well. I am considering one as a possible replacement to my e90 330i in the future.

minis in general are awesome cars to drive, before i started school i had one as my daily, and she's sitting back at home waiting for me to get back.

the JCW is the absolute best of the best, and if you're willing to give up 2 doors and drive manual, trade your E90 in as soon as you're willing to. even my mini, which is neither an S nor a JCW, handles great in twisties, and i'm sure the JCW is even better. just look carefully if you buy used, as just about every mini before 2007 has issues with the power steering system and the water pump being less than reliable. (they switched to all-electric power steering and an entirely new engine from 2007 onwards in hardtop minis, and from 2009 onwards in convertibles though, so hopefully the newer ones are more reliable.)

lol... we are responding to a 6 mo old initial post... anyways, i've had my jcw for about a year now... it is a blast... i've taken it to an autocross event, and even stock it is really impressive... replace the run-flats and upgrade the suspension a bit, and it's AWESOME...

Sadly, I sold my jcw half year ago. And miss it. It's an awesome car for DD and lots of fun.
But I feel it's too cute for man and plastic though.

For a "reasonably" practical car (you can get more stuff in it than an S2000 or Boxster), it's incredibly fun to drive. Actually, around town it's about the most fun car there is. It zips in and out of traffic and parking spots like it's on amphetamenes.

The short wheelbase makes for an incredibly responsive car that throttle steers easily.

Downsides: with stiff tires (runflats) it bounces over the pavement. If you want to push it at all (took mine to the track a couple times for fun), the front-wheel drive and relative lack of power starts to REALLY show.

Its a German Car, with a French engine, built in England. Of course it is cool!

I test drove one and bought an EVO X instead. Less money, no torque steer, more HP and no spaceship speedo.
