New 2010 Mini S

Wife wanted a new car and we got the MINI over the Bug she had wanted. Dodged a bullet there. Wanted and auto too!!!! Drove a used 09 Red as she said she wanted color. I was very impressed with the car. Quick, great handling, ok ride but quite but very fun and funky overall. While haggling over the trade she spot a 2010 right in front of the showroom. It was not cute like the other Mini's. He looked bad. I was told you have to name him or her and figure it out. I have worked through the process and have a name I will need to sell her on. She did say at dinner she thnks He over a She as it looks masculine.

Dark Silver Met(So much for the color she wanted) Black Hat, Sun Roof, 6 Speed(She loved it-no auto-Yes!), 16" Black Alloy's, Multi Wheel, Piano Black Int, fogs, Armrest, Bluetooth. Adding Black Racing stripes front and rear plus BlackJack mirrors Inside and Out.

His name- Black Jack or Jack for short.

From last nights drive I do not think this will be an economy car. Low 20's so far but lots of fun all in town.

I'm very impressed with the Mini's, for the money, they have a solid build quality and the fun factor is "WOW".

Phew. I'm glad you got the MINI over the bug. Your wife will be too. My wife has one and she absolutely loves the way it handles. Far superior to the bug. Post some pictures when you can please.

Thinking about picking up a mini as well. I stopped by the dealership and they said there is pretty much no discounting across the area dealers (and both Seattle and Fife are owned by the same company). Is this true? What's the best you can expect to get off MSRP on a new 2010?

Seattle MINI is owned by Manfred Scharmach. He also owns Northwest MINI and BMW Northwest. If you do not mind. If you are not satisfied with their offer, you might want to try the portland dealer. PM me and I can give you some references.

If they really don't move from MSRP, that's pretty impressive considering how most car manufacturers have been having so much trouble selling cars lately...

Congrats on the new purchase! I love mine and get about 28-29 mpg with the stock 17" wheels that come with the sport package, but only see about 24 with the snow kicks on:

Why would the kind of tires you have such an impact on gas mileage?

I went to get an MCS in 08' for a fun urban car. They said no to everything I asked for.
I left and they called back 3 days later. And this was during the $4 gas ordeal.

Wheel upgrade.
Tint.
$500 off.

Dallas dealer.

OP. Some pics would be nice.

Island Maser:

Mini's are great. Have a 07 R56 S that I had to go to Long Beach, CA for back in 07. She's my DD and track car. Can't go wrong with this little beast.

Surprised that Seattle/NW Mini isn't dealing. They have a boat load of cars. The dealership is great. Good people at both dealerships.

If your planning to track the car, upgrade suspension with some good coilovers (JIC/Cross) and get the JCW BBK. Then look at intercooler, DP, exhaust and RMW tune.

Mine is putting down 208.5 WHP and 238.3 WTQ. Check PS Mini.org. Great club, good people and plenty of info.

We are getting more and more mini's at PCA & BMW HPDE's. Great fun and good luck with the purchase. Be sure to get LSD. (not the drug----Hah!)

Cheers!

Rolling resistance. Tire manufactures put a lot of R&D into this. Rolling Resistance is one of Michelins selling points for some of their models.
